Yeah, out to the exciting land of Idaho. I'm still a Cards and Rams fan, so I've continued to be partially STL at heart.

Have either of you taken any practice tests? I know it's early, but I'm curious what others are scoring as comparison.

It's going well. I'm taking the Kaplan course so had to take a practice test each of the last two weekends. Great help in showing how to study for the physical science section.

How many hours a day/week are you studying?

it's been hard, i work full time plus another job part time and i'm trying to get shadowing in so my studying has been limited as of late but i'm hoping to pick it up very very soon! how's that kaplan class going? i've never taken a class, is that like once a week or do you meet multiple times a week?

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday night, and then have scheduled practice tests every few Saturdays. To be honest, I regret spending the money. My situation is different than yours. I really opened up my schedule for the summer and study 7-10 hours a day. The Kaplan teacher doesn't add anything that I couldn't read on my own and being in class until 9pm is very inconvenient. Oh well, I'm sure I won't get a lower score because of it.

They do have some good online information, practice tests, and access to all AAMC tests.

Good luck with your schedule. It's going to be a very tough summer for you and I hope you can work through it.

are you strictly using kaplan stuff and aamc tests?

No, right now I'm using Kaplan to review and then the EK1001 books to test my knowledge. I have the Berkley Review books which I will be starting once I finish the Kaplan books by the end of next week. I hear their passages are very difficult.

I rotate between Berkeley Review and EK101 for verbal.

We'll see how it all pays off...

I know what you mean, haha. So are you planning to submit your app after the MCAT? How are you doing with studying so far?

Yeah I already submitted my primary and have started receiving secondaries but i'm way too busy to knock out all those essays so i've decided to just focus on the mcat and then work on secondaries while i'm waiting for the score...this is my second time taking it so i'm trying to focus on doing more passages and less content review, how goes it for you?

Good luck. If you find a way to decrease time at work I'm sure you will jump to your desired score. Completing even a few steps of the application seems very difficult in your situation.

I am in a similar situation as you. I took my MCAT last summer, and I am retaking it this summer. I plan to submit my primary before mid July. Since it has been a while for me, I am going over all the content review. I'm following SN2ed's schedule, and it has been good so far. Best of luck to you in studying!

I'm about at the halfway point...content review has been done for a couple weeks, taking a FL every week or so with lots of passage problems. I'm trying to keep up the studying every night but I work full time and get home late...but I'm just going to be glad it'll be over before fall semester starts.

definitely agree with that! i feel like no one is taking it this day! but studying is going...ugh sometimes i feel like i'm making no progress!

I'm taking it on 8-19. I finished a general review of the 4 topics, and have since finished EK Ochem and am currently working on EK Gen Chem. EK Physics goes into extreme detail with some far out questions, and I'm hoping those practice questions aren't going to be on the actual MCAT. I had to study something different after getting to about question 440. The typo rate seems to be 10 per 1001 questions, which isn't much, but unusual to find in this level of instruction. The books contain good questions and test conventions as well as exceptions. It's frustrating getting 5 questions in a row wrong, but these books are definitely helping me prepare.

World cup final - kind of disappointing game

LBJ's decision - made a smart move on that one because 7 years at the cavs and no superstar besides him. I would have done the same thing as him. Plus a chance to play w/ wade and bosh = chance of lifetime. Although I'm sure big Z's decision to join Miami was definitely influenced by LBJ though.

Hey guys! Im in it for now. But I may push it back. I am trying to get through the concept review...but I am at a pretty intense program that has the Kaplan MCAT program along side with seminars and stuff. I started off with a 25 diagnostic and I am at 31 as we speak (they make us take full length every week). I am really concerned with how my score will change when I switch to AAMCs'. I have yet to finish my biology and organic chemistry content review... This week we take two full lengths (one on tuesday, the other on thursday...its going to be pretty intense). Back to organic chemistry!

I have to serve jury duty on 8/19, and because I've already deferred once they won't let me change it. I'm officially out of the 8/19 MCAT club. Damn our court system!

i took my first FL yesterday and i was pleasantly surprised 🙂 i still have a lot of room to improve, but hey at least it wasn't a 15 or something haha im having the most issues with the physical sciences...anyone have any recommendations? sometimes i'll feel stumped and not know how to begin to tackle a questions, but once i look over the solutions it starts making sense.
