btw all the angles in ur question are exactly the same... i pulled out a protractor and measured 😛

Me and the Paper folding dont get along very well. Keyholes is a pain sometimes too. Now that I think of it, I dont like top-front-end either. Hmmm, cube counting is fun though right!

i used to hate everything on the PAT but now i'm only hating on those top front end questions.... damn them to helllllllllllll!!!!!!!

This thread came at the perfect time for me...I'm about to tear my brains out trying to figure out the PAT. I am taking my DAT on Friday...I am confident about everything else, but I feel like the PAT is a crapshoot, either you get it or you don't. I've been doing practice problems for ages and it makes me very nervous because I've been getting from 19-22 on them and people say that they are WAY easier than the real thing! 😱 so....needless to say, I'm a nervous wreck. But...to look at the brightside, dentists never have to figure out hole punching patterns, keyholes or the like. I would have MUCH preferred chalk carving like it used to be because it seems like a much better indicator of your ability to work with your hands, but oh well...what can you do?!?! phew, I feel MUCH better... I had to vent (but I'm glad others feel the same about the PAT!!!) *GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE...we just gotta keep plugging away!*

i feel the same way...ive been getting 18-21 on pat. but everyone says its soooo much harder, its terrifying!
couple questions to those that recently killed this thing...
how would you compare it to dat acheiver, and...
how would you compare the angles, etc. to the ada sample test from the site?
the angles on both seem very difficult, but i thought the angles on ada sampleexam were more difficult. :luck: 🙂

A little assurance from me....in kaplan diag, i got a 14 on the PAT, and on the real I got a 18. I know 18 is not a high score, but don't make the mistake I did. I sped through it soooooo fast thinking I'll run out of time, I had 15 min left at the end. And it was really hard in choosing which section i should go back to. I am DUMB in pat, but it does come with time, you have to appreciate the art of thinking 3D. Good luck, PM me if u have any questions.

I'll be happy with an 18 on the real thing. On the topscore and kaplan practice tests i've been taking I've been consistently scoring around 18-20 so I think I can pull it off.

The only way I've been able to get those scores is by getting most of the angle ranking and hole punching ones right. Cube counting isn't too bad. Keyholes, top-front-end, and paper folding are downright evil though!

I took the DAT on Monday and compared to Topscore's and Kaplan's PAT, the real thing is NOT as bad as everyone is saying. My scores were 19's and 20's on the practice tests and I got a 19 on the real thing. A word of advice though, it seemed every section started out with a difficult question or two and the rest that followed were questions like you would see on practice exams. Do not let the first few questions psyche you out! I have a feeling they are put in there for that reason. Just mark them and move on, and you will do fine. 🙂

Thanks! That makes me feel so much better.

I feel a little intimidated by what I've read on this forum...
Your words come at a good time 🙂

Did you find the angles as hard as everyone is saying?

Thanks!

I honestly did not think they were as hard as everyone made them out to be. They were about equivalent to Topscore's angle ranking. Just practice practice practice and make sure to realize that on test day you may be a bit more excited than when taking a practice test, so they may seem harder. Just mark the ones you aren't sure of, and come back to them after you complete the problems you know. Usually upon second glance the problem is not as bad as you first thought. 🙂

would any of you skip whole sections and then come back at the end? do you think its easy to do this. i want to do this for some sections, and i dont think that much time would be wasted. any suggestions? 🙂
