I'm putting money on the fact that it's a 1.8% margin of error... yup... that's my guess.

Well..... the 1.8% represents the chance that I will end up doing IM. I am not a 100% sure because I just got finished doing my EM rotation, and I was EXHAUSTED at the end. I really loved it though, but I hope I won't feel like the walking dead during the 3-4 years I will be in residency. I don't know how I would feel if I had to do all nights all the time(during residency). Just thoughts.

(so I was bored and re-alphabetized the list for it to work well with those who have ADD and are looking for certain names and can't read the whole list...oh and I don't want to study anymore tonight.)

Nicola,

I know how you feel. I did 3 consecutive EM rotation last september-november. I was ok after the first, tired after the 2nd and really exhausted during and after the 3rd rotation. EM does have a significant Burnout factor but I figure that if you are passionate about EM and don't want to do anything else, then the possibility of burning out shouldn't be worrying you.
 
Just found a good compare contrast feature for organizing possible residency programs. I needed some serious organization!

I'd just like to toss some sour grapes on the pile from the 2008 round. while you guys are playing dodgeball in DC, I'm going to be playing scut monkey for the trauma surgery team as a brand spankin new intern. Man, I miss fourth year already and I haven't even graduated yet......🙄


but if you need a place to stay in Pittsburgh on the interview trail, look me up.

I know that being a scut monkey in trauma surg sucks but you'll still be an EM resident. As for the rest of, there's always next year.

Just as a heads up - I plan to do another anonymous survey of SDN EM applicants later this year. I hope that some of those who benefited from the earlier surveys will give back and participate. 👍

can someone remove the "I'm Torn" part of my original post....I am "all in" for EM. EKL in Baton Rouge HOPEFULLY!!
 
I've got Stanford, Denver, and UC-Davis. I'm super psyched! There is no residency program here, so I'm doing 3. I won't get credit for one of them, but I want to "audition." Is anyone else doing 3? I know it's overkill and unnecessary...can't help myself.😀

That's funny. My dad was stationed at Wright-Patterson just before he moved to Wilford Hall where I was born. 🙂 He thought both places were good.
