****The Official Marquette University Class of 2016 Acceptance Thread****

I am really looking into getting into the Marquette Dental School, can some of you guys who got in post yours stats, such as gpa, extracurriculars, and DAT score?

Thanks 🙂
anyone?

I'm in too! I was by my cell phone all day waiting for the call and they left a message on the home phone!!!!! So excited!!!!

No one posting anything about calls today is probably a bad sign for those of us who didn't get them last night, bummer.

For people that received calls yesterday...did your aadsas status change to offer made?

Has anyone gotten a wait listed notification? Will these come in the mail? Has MU done anything besides phone calls so far?

So if we didn't receive a phone call last night but the AADSAS status didn't change, do we still have a chance? I'm OOS...loved this school! I freaked out last night when I didn't get the call...

Hey guys, I got waitlisted last year from Marquette and got in this year. I just want to let you know what happened to me both times. Last year, my AADSAS status didn't change and I didn't receive a phone call. My status on AADSAS remained the same (Invited for interview or whatever it said) and then changed to the typical waitlisted statement (something to the effect of your application is up for further review). This year, I logged into AADSAS and my status changed to "Check back December 1st for further info" (yesterday). I got the call from Mr. Trecek last night. If you don't get in this year, don't give up. It took me 3 times until I finally got in. But hopefully this gives you guys some more info on whatever your situation might be. Best of luck to all of you.

Do any of you guys know when we find out about MQTs scholarship offers?

Hey guys and gals, just posting some information to help some of you rest your nerves for the time being. I received a phone call acceptance last year from MUSoD. To my understanding, based on last year's cycle, if you were accepted in the first batch, you would have received a phone call on November 30 and received your acceptance packet in the mail later that week (I received it about two days later). If you didn't receive a phonecall, you weren't accepted in the first batch. If this were the case, I'm not sure whether or not what your aadsas status would say to reflect this information. But, from my understanding, the second batch of acceptances wasn't notified until around January 15thish (since the first batch had until the 15th to pay their deposit). (Note: all the mentioned dates are relative to last year, 2010-2011.)

I know it's easier said than done, but don't give up hope or stress your nerves out if you did not receive a phone call last night. There's still plenty of time left. Good luck!

I'll get a facebook group going when I get a chance. I'll let everyone know when it's up.

1st off congrats to everyone on getting in!!!

On a side note, I got a letter in the mail today saying that my application is on "hold" does that basically mean I have no shot, or is that some sort of wait list? I never got a request to interview this fall. I really like how Marquette has handled the admission process they are the only school that actually up dates me on my status, they four school I applied to say nothing.

It basically means that if a few spots open up, they'll either take people off the wait list who already interviewed or they may choose to interview a few more people who didn't interview pre December 1st. Best of luck to you.

I received the "hold" letter today too; I wonder if anyone who gets this actually ends up getting in?

Ya that's what I've heard also. I got wait listed as well and as far as I know the chances of coming off of the wait list is pretty slim especially for in state people. There aren't many people that get into marquette that turn their in state spot down. I'm just glad I got in somewhere else so at least i have somewhere to go to school. Still not too happy about it though.

I just got the letter from Marquette saying that my application is on hold.

Does anyone know exactly what that means? I know what it means literally, but does anyone know how many generally get accepted into Marquette after being being placed on "hold".

I know they try to accept well over their class size with anticipation of losing several accepted applicants who chose to go elsewhere, so I just wondering where I stand.

Question for anyone who got accepted, what is your deadline for deposit/notification of acceptance of their offer?

does anyone know if the school has offered any acceptances recently...it seems like the only thing on here is stuff about people getting in during the first batch of acceptances...i have been wait listed since Dec 1st and just interested to see where they are in the process of selecting students.

You can go on their website and check out the "what's happening in admissions" section. It sounds like they made at least one more wave of offers since Dec. 1st, and probably just did another one. I am also on the waitlist, but I am a WI resident, so not looking good.

Got the wonderful letter that said the class is full and I am in the alternate pool. Have to hope for a miracle in that a WI resident drops from the class before next fall.

Me too. I'm oos tho. Any guess on the chances of getting off the alternate list?

I would say that there is a chance for oos applicants, but virtually none for me. Like I said, it would take a miracle

I agree it would take a miracle. I'm in the same boat. Figure there was 96 in state fighting for the 40 slots and now 56 hoping at least 1 drops for about 2% chance...makes ur heart die a little huh?

Got the same letter today unfortunately. Looks like I'm goin to Minnesota!

it is hard because they tell you all along that if you get an interview, then you are on an even playing field. I just don't think that those 40 could have all had that great of interviews.

Also, from speaking with students there now, I believe there is a summer program at MU for disadvantaged students or students with sub-par stats who are given a chance to prove themselves and matriculate in the fall. This means there are even less seats for "regular" applicants. I think there is more like 30 oos seats and 30 in state seats if I'm not mistaken but it's for sure less than 40.
