I was supposed to take the test March 23rd. But, seats filled up faster than I expected in my area...🙁. Who else is registered for this date? I guess on the bright side I have more time to prep 🙂

33!

I took Kaplan online.
Average Kaplan FLs: 35 (9-10PS, 12-13V, 10-12B)
Average AMCAS practices: Don't know, only had enough time for #11 which I think was a 30, and I did the PS of some of the other ones which averaged around a 10)
Actual score: 33 (10PS, 11V, 12BS).

So happy and relieved.

Remember folks, it would be of great psychological assistance to all those who took the mcat on June 20 (and July 2 I presume as well) if you could post the following:

AAMC average: (PS,VR,BS)
Post test Prediction: (PS,VR,BS)
Actual Score: (PS,VR,BS)

Best of luck to y'all!

AAMC average: (PS 12, VR 8, BS 13)
Post test Prediction: (PS 9, VR 10, BS 11)
Actual Score: (PS 11, VR 9, BS 11)

31... I had been getting 34s mainly on practice. I'm okay with it.

14 PS, 12 VR, 12 BS for a 38 !!!!!!!!!!

AAMC Average: (PS 12, VR 10, BS 12)
Post Test Prediction: (PS 11, VR 8-9, BS 10-11)

Actual Score: (PS 14, VR 12, BS 12)

31. Dang. 12/8/11. I expected much higher. My AAMC average was 35.Post-test prediction 33+.

Stupid effing verbal.

so yeah i've been following this forum a while now, a couple of months. I also took my MCAT may 30, I've been such a lazy ass to join the forum, but yeah I finally did. The anxiety has been pretty bad today!! ugh.

Kaplan/AAMC Average: 28.1
Post-Test Prediction: Felt pretty good, maybe 29 or 30
Actual Score: 11/11/9 31!! :soexcited:

Hi All... I GOT A 33!!! THANK THE HOLY BEJEEZUS!!

So happy that my score wasn't as far off from my average this time (except verbal):

Average AAMC last year: 9.5/11.2/12 (about 33)
5/30/12 MCAT: 9P/9V/9B (27)

Average AAMC this year: 11/11/13 (about 35)
5/30/13 MCAT: 12P/9V/12B (33)

YAY!!! Moving forward towards medical school finally!
How often does a retaker see a 6 point increase? I will post my story some time soon and talk about how I managed things (all while doing research 45 - 55 hours per week). I am so ecstatic right now!! Thanks to all here who showed incredible support and kindness and F U to all the people who were rude, condescending, and unsupportive at every turn. This might not be the best score in the world, but I am aiming for the stars and I don't care who has a problem with that. 😛 My 4th of July is going to be friggin' awesome!

Congrats to all who are happy with their score!

And to everyone shooting for a retake: IT IS POSSIBLE TO BRING THAT MOFO UP SEVERAL POINTS.... DONT GIVE UP, DON'T LOOSE HOPE, AND KEEP ON WORKING YOUR TUSHIE OFF!!! IT WILL ALL PAY OFF IN THE END!!! 🙂

aamc average: probably around 32, but i took them in 8 consecutive days and they were dropping as I went along.
actual: 34! 14 physical (?) 10 verbal 10 bio (lower bio than I expected)

i'll take it! i'm happy enough

I got a 19 :-(

10/4/5

Kinda knew I was going to get that. But I don't understand why I'm so horrible at it.

I'm a mechanical engineer major who hasn't taken biology or gen chem for almost 10 years.

Oh man, I got 29, this puts me in quite a difficult situation.

Range for AAMC full lengths: 26-35 (26 was my first practice)

Avg: 30.7

29. 9PS 9VR 11BS...
I have a 3.9 GPA and over 5 years of clinical / lab experience. Not sure if I should retake or settle for this.

June 20 examinee here. I read in earlier posts of this thread that the BS section was very hard. Do you guys think that you scored better in the BS section than you expected? Do you suspect there was a better curve? Thanks

Practice Test Average (all AAMCs except 3 and 8?): 31.2
Post Test Prediction: 12/9/10 ~31
Actual Score: 12/9/12 33
Happy with my score. After this test I felt like total crap. Congrats to all those who did well!

It's funny because I did really well on verbal in practice but seemed to have choked the day of. My last AAMC verbal score was a 14. On the AAMC practices, I couldn't get PS above a 10 and I got 11s and 12s on BS. I am really excited about my score, especially the dramatic improvement in physical sciences 🙂

VR: 11

PS: 12

BS: 12

Total: 35

🙂

I though BS was pretty hard. I had only 5 or so minutes left with the last passage and it was a pretty tough experimental one that required you to read everything for details. I though I had bombed bio but walked away with a 12

Felt it was very hard for me, but I didn't bomb it as much as I thought I would. Got a 10.

11 6 11

I had never scored a 6 in VR before so this is quite a disappointment. I don't know if I can handle studying for this test for another month and retaking. I doubt any schools will look at me with a 6 in VR though.

How disappointing. Congrats to all who got what they wanted.

I got a 6 on the VR as well. DO schools might take the score, but I am not entirely sure.

I am already rescheduled for the 26th of July, but I didn't anticipate doing so badly on the VR. I thought I did excellent.

MCAT practice range: 33-35
Predicted: 33 (12, 10, 11)
Actual: 39 (12, 13, 14)

On top of the world right now!!!!!

DO schools will accept you if you have a semi-decent GPA.

8/10/9 for a 27.

That 8 is really ugly. I never scored below a 10 in PS. It was rock solid. No idea what happened. I'm fairly disappointed, but everyone around is very happy for me. Almost 3 points below my average.

Couple with a 3.4c/3.5s ill hopefully get some DO love and maybe some low tier MD attention. Ill be happy either way.

I felt like the verbal was easy and I finished with 3 minutes to spare too and my average was 11.5. Somehow I scored a 9. I know how you feel man.

I think we can all say "dayumm"....you really knocked it out of the park

Care to share how you felt post-test and how you felt as you took the test? were you confident the whole time, did you feel like you made any stupid errors walking out?

First-time poster here. Here are my stats:

AAMC average : 11 PS/10 VR/10 BS (31 total)
Prediction: 29-33 total
Actual: 11 PS/9 VR/10 BS (30 total)

I must say, I am glad to have made a 30, but wondering if this 30 will keep me out of mid to top-tiered schools? What about the "9" in VR? I have a 3.9 GPA in Biological Sciences + pretty impressive extra-curriculars.

Please let me know what your thoughts are! Anyone!

Thanks.

MCAT practice range: 27-31
Predicted: 28-29

Ughh this puts me in a tough situation. I have a 3.95 GPA thought. I think i am going to apply and see how things play out

In response to bear2roo:

After the test I felt HORRIBLE. So bad that I angrily flipped through the trial section, and wanted to crawl into a corner and die.

I think the main thing that made me feel bad was that, in the last few seconds of both PS and BS, I changed an answer in impulsive desperation, and once time ran out I realized that answer was wrong. In Bio, in fact, I think I changed from the right answer, which made me feel even worse. The whole thing felt rushed, I was selecting answers I was hardly confident in. That's why I felt so bad.

So I think there was a lot of luck involved. But anyway, as time went on I started to feel better and better about the test. It was hard for me, but it must have been hard for everyone else too. I realized I shouldn't be so hard on myself for those couple questions, and hoped that I got lucky on the guesses I did make. Looks like I did!

AAMC Average (7,8,9,10,11): 37.6

Actual: 14/12/13 39.

Pretty cool because I walked out of the test and felt horrendous. I thought I bombed Verbal, but it turned out alright in the end. Also, for those that are worried about this, I went back after the exam and looked up 2 -3 questions that I definitely got wrong in BS and still did fine. If you're in that boat, PLEASE don't let it get to you!

Best of luck to everyone on the forum! See you back here in 3-4 yrs for the USMLE.

It's very hard to get into top-tier schools with a 30 on the MCAT, that's below their 10 percentile.

AAMC average : 13 PS/9 VR/10 BS (32)
Prediction: 30-34
Actual: 10 PS/9 VR/11 BS (30)

so borderline! Help!!! the thought of retaking is killing me

I have a 3.96 AMCAS GPA. I know DO schools will give me a much better chance but I think I may give this damn test one more try in early August.
I am just so disappointed in myself right now. I really can't believe it.
