Still anxiously awaiting a rejection. 🙂 Haha!

payed my deposit yesterday!!! sure I am going to UConn!!!
Any info about scholarships yet??

requested to join group!

And I'm currently adding my classmates to the page as well, so there will be plenty of people to answer any questions

Congrats on the acceptances everybody!! If you guys have any questions feel free to PM or post here.

I am a 1st year and very happy with my decision to come to Uconn!

Hey guys, congrats on the acceptances! I am a second year dental student here at UConn, so feel free to ask some questions if you have any. Also, I see a few of my fellow classmates on this thread, and I am sure that they would be willing to answer any questions as well. 🙂

is uconn strict about you completing all your "planned coursework" on the aadsas? i know you need to do all the pre-reqs, but can i switch around some other general coursework to make my last semester in undergrad a little more low key? i really dont feel like taking calc 2 unless i absolutely have to haha...

I'm not sure to be honest - I would check with the school on that one. I can't imagine that it would matter so long as the planned coursework was not a pre-requisite though.

Can any current student verify how many of the 60 people that are currently in the UConn 2018 Facebook group are actually current students vs. how many are not?

Of the current 63 members: 26 are current first years and 37 are probably Class of 2018 (since some of them may change their minds, gain an acceptance somewhere else, etc)

Also, a good rule of thumb is just seeing who has University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine next to their name when you look at the members page, since that would be us current first years.

Accepted OOS at sent in my deposit! Excited to be going to UConn next year 🙂

were you on the waitlist or just now posting?

I got an extension for a week since I was waiting to hear from another school about their dual degree program (I paid my deposit on the 1st, but didn't officially accept into their dmd/phd program until a few days ago)

Parking here sucks and is virtually non-existent. That is all

It's true that there's quite a bit of construction here at the health center so that makes parking an issue. If you live across the street at the Forest, they don't give you a parking spot. If you have to commute, you definitely get a parking spot though! Otherwise, there's a shuttle that runs right through the Forest apartment area that takes us to the academic entrance of the building, so you don't need to drive to school.

Would you care to elaborate? Also, what year are you?
I get to campus around 6:50 -7am for a class that starts at 8:10 and quite literally there is no free parking for non-parking permit people. I went and got a motorcycle because it's that bad trying to find parking here. I've emailed many different people trying to get a parking pass and no one has been helpful..

I'm a second year and I don't live in the Forrest. Been waiting since August to get a spot and they still haven't given me one. I have talked to the parking office and they have not been very accommodating. They have told me to try and look for free parking so I either end up missing class or getting a parking ticket haha

That's terrible! Hopefully that gets resolved very soon. I guess probably most of us 1st years just live at the Forest and don't have too much experience commuting since I hadn't heard any stories like yours from my class. It's true that if I ever want to drive to school, I have to get there at 6:35ish to get a spot...

I lived in the Forest last year and just walked every day. This year I park on Munson road and walk from there. Either way, the parking situation is terrible as mentioned above.

Has anyone heard anything from this school recently? Wondering if there will be any waitlist movement this year...

This thread seems moot now that there is a facebook group, haha.
