***The OFFICIAL UConn C/O 2021 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Mine hasn't either. It still says "invited for interview." I figured I'd ask because I saw that it changed in pervious years.

I think your love for UConn is obvious. They'd be lucky to have you 🙂 I'm just trusting in the powers that be that they will make the right decision in choosing you.

Hey I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone for there interest in our program. Good luck to all the applicants. For those who receive acceptances tomorrow my classmates and I want to welcome you to the UConn family. If you have multiple offers and need help deciding please don't hesitate to contact any of the admissions reps from your interview. We want to make sure UConn is a good fit for anyone who matriculates with us and is really happy here. Whatever program you end up in make sure it is the best fit for you! I know our administration interviewed amazingly qualified candidates this year and I know it gets more and more competitive each year. Looking forward to meeting our Class of 2021!

random question. Do dental schools talk to each other about potential students? for example, take a very strong student who will likely get accepted to some of the most competitive schools... would a less competitive school be less likely to accept that student if the less competitive school learns that the student has been interviewed at several other more competitive schools? (hope this makes sense) I know this is very specific. I am just curious. It seems like it would be too much work for the schools to do this. A friend has been interviewed at several of the most competitive dentals schools (September and early October) but has not received interviews at some of the less competitive dental schools he applied to. Just got me wondering (and probably overthinking)

From personal experience I think schools take into account how likely you are to actually go there. I interviewed at some competitive programs and got wait listed at what I figured was my safety school. I wouldn't say they talk to each other but if you application shows you never left New England (and they do not think you want to leave) a school in California may not bother offering you an interview. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Thanks! That is what I figured.

Shhhhhh don't blow up this thread yet for those subscribed. They'll frantically check and be disappointed and anxious.

We'll all get it at the same time (I hope). They send them in waves or batches, if you will, depending on interview date. Not sure how long it's needed to process but I hope everyone from early November and earlier has been decided upon.

Wait listed. Out of state.
Interviewed in October.

Rejected without an interview. 22AA, 23TS, 3.7 SGPA and 3.7 general GPA
Me too buddy and the feeling sucks. I tried to keep up good grades and be well rounded with extra curriculars and volunteering. I guess we can never know what these schools are looking for. UConn was my top choice too. But you win some and you lose some.

It is what it is. UConn is very competitive of course. Hope you get into your other choices 🙂

Anyone else accepted to C/O 2021 and debating between schools?

Anyone else accepted to C/O 2021 and extremely on the fence? Figured it'd be helpful to talk through my concerns with someone else in similar shoes before I make a final decision.
Which programs are you between? What are your concerns?

Between some very strong programs.

I'll keep my concerns to PMs.

Okay well the best advice I can give you is decide where you will see yourself happiest. Four years is a long time and you want to make sure you enjoy it since dental school is a challenge. Things to consider are always will the program get me to where I want to go and do I want to live there. I know people says to not worry about the cost but I personally thinks it is importance especially if you plan on doing a specialty and will not be able to repay loans for a while. I would not make cost your only factor at the same time. No matter what program you go to at the end you will be a dentist, they all meet the same minimums and accreditation, each program has its pros and cons. I know when I go to apply for residencies next year I am going to look for programs that have an environment I can see myself best in. I know one interview is not a long time but think about what program made you feel most comfortable, how the faculty and students are as people.

Thanks man. This helps.

Since it seems like you've been invited to several strong programs, I really don't think you can go wrong. So maybe think about where you would like to live for the next four years. Personally, I really did not want to live in a city. It also seems that many of the dental schools located in cities were not located in the best areas as well. It is also much more expensive to live in a city and you get significantly less for the price. Not sure if this helps but it helped me make my decision 🙂 If you like cities though, then Farmington is probably not the place to be.

1. I'm impressed with your dedication to finding out my dental school and how efficiently you're tracking my posts across different threads.

2. Are you SURE that Incis0r even got into UConn? Would you bet $100K on it? 😉
yes! You got in because you said:

give me my 100k, now I'll only own 100k more to UMKC

I know of someone who got off the waitlist this past month.

Anyone waitlisted and gotten a call asking if you're still interested?
Did you get a call? I would love a call so I could say "YES, YES, YES!"

Any info on whether there has been waitlist movement. I assume by now, everyone has put a deposit down.

yes recently there has been waitlist movement. when I say recent I mean in early February.
