This thread is the KKK of the pre-dental forum. You know how they rationalize it. If Chicanos, Blacks, Gays, Italians, Irish etc. have the right to celebrate their culture we the white race have the right to celebrate ours. [EDITED TO REMOVE TOS VIOLATION] In other words their is an inherent need to gather resources and strategies to achieve the same success as more dominant societal group, in this case the 3.6 GPA or higher applicant.

You all are not a support group because there is nothing to overcome. You have the great GPA, stellar DAT scores, and almost guaranteed admission. So, even though you have and equal right to have such a thread please doesn’t promote it as being the same as the thread started by those with lower GPAs. This thread is about being braggarts and nothing more. For that we have the 2005 and 2006 stats thread. I suggest finding that thread and posting your data with touch of class and respect for others.

So I imagine what you posted was done with a "touch of class and respect for others"? Accusing us of being bigoted and comparing us to hate groups....really classy and respectful, heck of a way to lead by example.

We're hating on anyone- we're just celebrating our good grades. This was never intended to be a "support" group, but rather just a thread for discussion amongst those of us who have done well as far as our GPA's are concerned. There's no exclusion- we're not lynching anyone, we're not excluding anyone (we haven't told anyone to get lost because they don't have a high GPA), etc- you're just saying what you're saying because you have a problem with me personally as evidenced by your previous responses to me in other threads. Grow up- if you have a problem with me then target me, not everyone else in this group. And by the way, I'm not leading anything- I just started the thread. Last time I checked the only hierarchy anywhere on SDN was the moderators and the rest of us.

If you think you're going to run me off with little derogatory quips, you've got another thing coming.

ISU_Steve - take my advice, no one is targeting you, and you are not targeting anyone else, however, some people (including myself) feel this thread is Ignorant - Since it highlights self acheivements

There is nothing wrong with being proud of what you've achieved! Make no mistake, but I (as well as others) do not believe that this is the appropriate place to do so, let's congratualte/encourage/advise other's that find themselves in less fortunate situations in terms of their STATS and desire to get to Dental School.

REMEMBER - we will not be judged by the colour of our skin, but by the content of our character!
