I know it has been discussed before that at least some programs will offer AP/NP 4 year programs that you can apply to directly from med school.

I'm a MS3, very interested in neuropath, and I'm trying to gather info on which programs offer this pathway, and which programs I should apply AP only with the plans of applying to NP fellowship after 2-3 years? Anyone out there who has done this or is going through this match now? It's quite hard to gather hard info on this, via FRIEDA, careermd, or other sites. UCSD is the only program that I saw that directly addresses that they accept ERAS applications for a 4 year AP/NP residency. Can anyone add to this list? THANKS!

Programs offering 4 year AP/NP residency:
UCSD

I checked my ERAS where for some programs you apply there is an option to indicate which track you're applying for. Other four year AP/NP categoricals include Columbia, Albert Einstein, and NYU.

Duke also offers it

I should add that I've heard the job market in neuropath is extremely tight. Of course that's shouldn't be the ultimate reason for choosing or not choosing a field...but just a thought.

MGH and the BW also, although they're not ones you match into as 4 year programs. I believe one matches into AP only and then applies from within, although my sense is that you know before you go whether or not you can do the 4 year deal (haven't been there, so can't say for sure). Penn is one of the few that you match right off as AP/NP.

PS - experimental neuropathologists are, I've heard, relatively in demand. Not sure about the job market if you're not planning on running a full-up research lab.

experimental NPs are in demand? What the hell is that exactly, you mean like neuroscientists?

"In demand" my a$$, nice one though, you stated it so matter-of-factly I bet the original poster believed it.
