The path to pain medicine?

I did a quick search, but didn't find a real answer to this.

Can anyone tell me the path to pain med from PM&R?
I'm thinking transition year, 3 years of PM&R residency, then a fellowship?
Is this right?

That is correct.


However, if you are not interested in performing high-end pain management interventions, being pain boarded, or performing interventions at all for that matter, then a fellowship may not be necessary.
