Hey Everyone,
I wanted to let everyone know about a new organization that I am a part of. The Pharmacy Alliance is a new association of pharmacists, technicians and students dedicated to improving the daily lives of all pharmacists.

The Pharmacy Alliance is featured in an article appearing in this month's Drug Topics. You can read that article here. You can visit TPA's website here.

I hope you all will check us out, and I hope you all will join.

how many goddamn pharmacy associations are there? geesh

You are a funny guy!!!

That's one hell of a nerdy ass joke. Clearly retail pharmacists, though. They have no idea what the hell tPA is or else I'd imagine they'd have gotten a better acronym. I could see hospital pharmacists BCBS or CVS as an acronym for a club, too...

I'm a happier person now that I'm not privy to the fascist bull**** that is school. Which makes me care more. Perhaps that's it. And it's true, too. I should write them a comment card or something.

"I was in a situation in which I hated waking up every morning thanks to being in school at WVU. So much so, I have a small landfill of broken alarm clocks in my back yard that DARED to wake me up for another day of school. I hated clinical pharmacy and wanted to kick at least 50% of the professors in the nuts. Repeatedly. However, upon graduation, it was like a heavy weight and shackles had been taken off of my person and, in comparison, the real world was made to look inviting, dare I say, benevolent. You made my 5 years in pharmacy so terrible, bizarre, and nonsensical that I actually go to work every day with a smile on my face SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I'M NOT IN SCHOOL ANYMORE. This use of daring and potentially unethical reverse psychology that indirectly made me interested in acquiring pharmacy knowledge almost in spite of the professors that had given up on me is nothing less than brilliant. I applaud the faculty. Their methods are truly cutting edge."

Just thought I would bring this back up. I have been looking into The Pharmacy Alliance for a while. Jim Plagakis is one of the founding members. If you don't know this guy he is a pharmacist in Galveston, Texas. He has been writting a column in Drug Topics longer than most of us have been pharmacists. After much thought I finally joined today. This is the first and only pharmacy organization I will ever join.

For all of you who have been posting complaints about lay offs, Walgreens power and all the other bitching. Take a look at The Pharmacy Alliance. They are at least trying to do something to improve the hell we call retaill pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Alliance sounds like a group of superheroes ala Justice League.

Although the superpowers wouldn't be nearly as bad@ss.
