Substitute Subway with pharmacy and it's the same thing.

Meh, from what I've read about subway, the franchise has had common logistical problems in the more recent decades (stores receiving nearly rotten ingredients upon arrival....quality assurance a complete ****-show and controversy about certain ingredients...mystery "tuna" containing dolphin, etc.). Maybe it's like @sosoo and dispensing expired meds

Use to be decent/economical; last I ate there was early 2000s as a broke college student...**** certainly has hit the fan in terms of press/PR issues in the following decades

I remember when it used to be 5 bucks. Now it's 6 bucks for a foot long and you have to buy a drink. That is what you get for creating a jingle with a price in it. It also doesn't help that their spokesman is a pedophile.

Subway was the only slightly healthy fast food option up until the 2000s. I probably haven't been in one in 10 years. If I want a fast food sub I will go to Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's.

I don't see why their old spokesman being a pedo has any bearing on Subway as a business. Subway didn't fly him out so he could diddle kids. My issue with Subway is how they've handled their food product over the last decade. They've moved away from good bread and good food to good taste. Nothing wrong with food that tastes good but folks don't go to Subway so they can buy chipotle grilled chicken sandwich with the coconut curry dressing and bacon smoked for 21 hours. They're just trying too hard.

They're also not consistent. If I go to the subway on lovers lane they don't have Monterrey cheddar bread. The subway on greenville ave has wheat only. What the hell is that about? Say what you want about McDonalds but no matter where you go you know that you can get a big mac or some chicken nuggets.

Don't kill me for the double post but I have to make this point. Whining about your business because of the economy is total garbage. The iPhone was introduced during the worst financial crisis of our lifetime and it's a billion dollar product. If you have a good product, you will be rewarded for it.

I still eat there. Not a lot to pick from around here. It's a cheap lunch and better than hospital cafeteria food (usually cheaper, too).

Reason why I stopped going there is because every time I ate there I would have to the the rest of the day off because I would make like a goose for the rest of the day.

You guys consider a 10 billion revenue company as failing?

Bad example. The iphone was launched in June of 2007. The stock market and economy were at a high point and still rising.

It's not failing. It just won't be the same brand it was. Kind of like best buy. It used to be juggernaut but now because of online competitors they aren't as big as they used t be. It will always be around as it still has a place that needs to be filled but it won't be the best buy we are used to remembering.

Sounds pretty good to me

They closed 1,108 stores last year.
Why keep open bad stores?

People say that about Walgreens. Look you take a chance but not all locations work

The Dow Jones was at 13,100 when the iPhone was announced. A year and a half later it was at 6,600.

That's why Walgreens is starting to fall too.

I'll give you this when we were still in the great opening boom, yes they weren't going to close a bunch of stores. They still did though.

Now that we get reimbursed so badly, there's no point to keep them open. Every store that is closing has been performing badly for awhile.

I like Subway actually. But sadly for them they are the least good option for subs. Firehouse is way better.
Subway would be good if they didn't consistently hire such garbage employees.
The people that work there (in Texas) are super gross and i don't trust them to handle food, even with gloves

That's what you get for minimum wages.

Subway is becoming a thing of the past because they fail to innovate and offer nothing more but a cheap, low-value product. If I'm feeling like a meatball sub right then and there, then sure, subway is a contender. However, there are so many better options for a minor increase in price (granted you don't like in a tiny town).

Dominos > Subway.

I haven't eaten a single sub from that place for over 8 years, probably longer...

I quit going to Subway when I discovered Quizno's and Blimpies....unfortunately, I think they have already went the Subway is going. Oh well, at least there is still Jimmy John's.
