Is it me?

I know everyone say "Search" for common questions. But the apparently intuitive nature of the feature is lost on me.

Also, why does it ask for the common name of H2O??

Hope everyone is doing well,

Kane

😕 I don't get what your saying. You type whatever you want to learn more about into the blank and hit search.

It normally asks these questions when you are not logged in. Just make sure you are logged in and you won't have to worry about coming up with answers.

(Others questions I have seen: "Is hydrogen a metal?" and something about the first digit of pie.)

Do you use "Search Forums"/Threads, or "Google Search"...maybe advanced and just search the Dental forums? I must doing something wrong because it's kind of bug-y. Like post will repeat themselves, not the best formatting, stuff like that.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

That's because you get the archived posts. If you want "normal" formatting, click the posts that don't say "Archive". Use the "search Forum" and Thread tool. It's helpful.

I think they should add a feature that allows you to search a particular board. When I just want dentistry stuff, I get stuff from the entire SDN message boards.

Go to advanced search and you can do exactly that! It will be on the bottom right of the page.

Ahh yes! Finally, I don't have to sort through all that med school stuff.

I still have my gripes with the search features. Especially because I know everyone will say "SEARCH!" to my questions.

If you have any other search tips, I'm all ears.:hardy:

If you still have other questions regarding the search feature, ask away now. It's a very useful tool, and like you said, using the search feature more often will keep you from getting harassed by others when posting a repeat thread on a simple topic.
