Hello, again,
I'm worried as usual.

So far I have a 3.68 sci-GPA and 3.62 overall. At the end of this semester, I'll have either a 3.69 or 3.78 sci-GPA and a 3.65 or 3.71 overall. (Depending on a class that hangs between a B and an A.)
I'm a sophomore, and I don't think I'm doing too badly. What do you folks think?

I'm volunteering at a free children's dental clinic this summer, and hopefully shadowing an orthodontist for as long as I'm able. I'm still in the university's honors program, which I'm not sure is very important or not. Just started trap/skeet shooting as a hobby to help show my coordination/extracurricular.

Haven't taken the DAT yet, and it will be a while until I do. My university has made the amazing decision to schedule physics/chem/biology classes in the same time block. Think a 5-week summer physics course is worth it?

hmm.. about your DAT, there is no physics on the DAT so that shouldn't play into your decision to take the test..

I hope you're joking? Anyway, everything looks fine, rock the DAT hard and you can go to any school you want.

No, but don't worry about it. My GPA would have been outside 1-2 standard deviations of all the schools I got into, on the suck end, with a good DAT score.

Seriously, with that GPA and a 23 AA the only schools you couldn't get into would be the crazy state schools that don't accept out of state applicants like Mississippi.

Don't take it as an excuse to slack though. Admissions gets harder every year and all that. See it as an opportunity to try and get as much free money as you can 😀

i agree with the others. you gpa is good.

i think it is "normal" or "on-track" to apply to dental school the may 15th of your junior year.

i wouldnt recommend taking science classes over the summer because i think they are hard?

i just take breathe classes over the summer.

Doubt it. I just listen in class.

BAD? Dude, chill the f-out. You're doing what you need to do and a 3.7+ GPA is well over what you need to be competitive. You are doing your volunteer and shadow time. You know what you have coming up with classes/DAT preparation. I would get into some research this upcoming Fall into next spring to beautify your app. But seriously, you're spot on so again, chill the f-out.
