There comes a time in a pre-pharmacy student's life when hard decisions must be made. As students, we worked so hard to be where we are in the application cycle and we duly expect to be accepted somewhere and we blindly apply to as many schools as possible to improve chances of admittance. As a nontraditional student, I applied to four schools in my state of Florida. I did not apply anywhere else. I went to a PBA interview and learned that their cost is $30Gs; I left Bradenton interview knowing they cost 43Gs (instate); I hear NSU is about 25Gs/year; that leaves UF.
UF has the lowest unheard cost of attendance, ~14Gs/year. Granted, it is a public school and a renowned one at that, but its cost is pretty enticing. However, UF's cost may not mean much when compared to NSU if I have to rent a place, food and other expenses. So far, no news from UF or NSU. What is a pharmacy student to do?
Bradenton campus is BEAUTIFUL. The dean and everyone else were super nice. I am thrilled at having interviewed and know that I would be REALLY happy to study pharmacy there. The school has maximum security, yet, you don't really feel like your every move is being watched. At night, the campus is so nice. But being in debt ~200Gs vs ~60Gs is such a big difference and I can't stop thinking about UF (mostly) & NSU (local).
Decisions... Decisions.
I want to be a GATOR or a SHARK dammit!
