The wait begins...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wonder if the NRMP has already run the match program. It probably takes about 100 milliseconds to do. I definetly feel better that its all over, however, part of me will miss this period of my life. Its been a long long year. I personally enjoyed the travel and meeting everyone. Now I have nothing to occupy my time. At least the weather is starting to get nice enough to golf again.

I need Phenergan Enema... IV does not work for me anymore.

Time to kick back and ask girls out... Spring is here... well, not quite here yet... but soon. Romance will make the wait shorter and less painful.

It's only a few days now. I'm sure you will all do well (participating on this site seems to select those who do well). Sit back, relax, go for a massage, reach for a cold one. Just think that 16 months from now, your life is going to be sweeeeeeeeeet!

Good luck to everyone in the Match. If you're coming my way, shoot me a PM.

good luck to all as well! i'm so nervous as well, just wanna know i matched tomorrow and ill be satisfied...

"Congratulations, you have matched!"

Woopee!!!!!!

Just checked the NRMP data. 8 unfilled spots this year. Seems like a lot.

I matched and congrats to those who did too. For those who have to scramble at least there are more spots available than in years past.

Holy Crap,

The kid with a 212 step 1 score got in =) I'm seriously stunned..doesn't seem real.

I'm also stunned that there are 8 unfilled spots! That's good news to anyone who did not match 👍 :luck:

I matched too! Now I need to get that phenergan enema out of my butt.

i'm pretty psyched right now, almost psyched enough to outweigh the nerves for thursday.

some program on that long rank list took me! hoping it was nearer to the top than the bottom, but grateful to have matched at all. cutting down on my benadryl dose from now to thursday...

about the unmatched spots, are you sure they are not regular pgy-2 spots? because most programs only offer pgy-2 spots and we all match into them, with separate internships we find on our own. 8 does seem like a lot. just think of the activity going on in the scramble now...

Mad props to those who matched! I can't wait to start seeing you all at meetings.

For any who did not match, best of luck snagging one of the many unfilled spots this year!

Im just happy I am going to be a radiation oncologist. Only thing I could see myself doing for the next 30 years. Congrats to everyone else who matched, and good luck to those who need to scramble.

I matched too, and am so excited. Even though I wasn't a regular poster on this board, I still learned a lot from reading it. Cheers!

You must have had a great application otherwise!

So I realize I'm probably totally overanalyzing..but I honestly can't sleep b/c of this little nagging feeling I have.

Here is what is keeping me awake:

I ranked 8 radonc programs. At the end of my rank list, since I wasn't positive I would match, I ranked as my #9 choice a prelim medicine year all by it's lonesome self.

Is it possible that the "congratulations you matched" email means that I only got that? Or do you have to get both residency AND prelim to be considered matched (EVEN IF ONE OF YOUR ROL CHOICES IS TO MATCH IN A PRELIM YEAR ALONE????)

If anyone knows the answer, I'd really appreciate it!! Thank you! ND

How will I know if I have matched to a program?
At 12:00 noon on Monday of Match Week, applicants can learn IF they matched to a program on their rank order list by logging in to the NRMP's Registration, Ranking, and Results (R3) System using their AAMC ID and password. Applicants will be presented with one of the following messages on the Applicant Options page:

1. Congratulations, you have matched!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who is "fully" matched, including

Applicants who listed and matched to a categorical program.
Applicants who listed and matched to preliminary and advanced programs.
Other conditions also apply. Applicants who listed only advanced programs on their certified rank order lists and did not list any preliminary positions on a supplemental rank order list will receive this message. Similarly, applicants who included only preliminary programs on their certified rank order lists will receive this statement. The matching algorithm considers an applicant "matched" if he/she lists only one program type on his/her certified rank order list. Applicants who receive this message will not have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs that is posted on Tuesday of Match Week.

I don't know the answer but I would call your school first thing tomorrow to find out - just to be sure. I hope someone else can give you an answer. Good Luck!

found this on NRMP FAQ:

3. Congratulations, you have matched to a one year position!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who matched to a preliminary position but did not match to an advanced position listed on the primary rank order list. Applicants who receive this message will have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs and are eligible to participate in the post-match Scramble for unfilled positions to obtain an advanced position; however, applicants may not use the Scramble to obtain a categorical position or a different preliminary position.

Based on this, sounds like you matched...but I will still call your school tomorrow! Hope this helps!

Thanks NNy! I called a few friends who researched this thoroughly and it sounds like I'm all good. Now I can get some sleep...😴 Thanks for your help! ND.

I would definitely call first thing in the morning just to make sure.

Napolean, RELAX
Don't call to make sure. I got the same message as you did after doing the same thing (ranking PGY-1's on the main list). I actually called NRMP yesterday and they told me the same thing other posters mentioned above. The 'congratulations you matched!' message only shows up if you have a complete post-graduate education - you're going to be a radiation oncologist!! CELEBRATE!

This is good to know . . . I was wondering the same thing when I looked at my email yesterday. . . at least now I know I matched into an actual program! 😀
