Wow, I just e-submitted my PharmCAS application. It was very stressful knowing that I can no longer make any changes to my application exp. my personal statement. I've worked on it for apprx. a year so it really means a lot to me. My transcripts are in, as well as 1 of my LORs. Now I can just concentrate on my August PCAT. Good Luck to all those completing PharmCAS this cycle.

I just got my GPA calculations today. It only took them 1 week after receiving them.

I submitted mine today too 🙂 My GPA was calculated in under a half hour...I was astonished! Now I'm just waiting for my LOR writers to submit them online, which should be soon as they are all finished.

Oh wow!! I have friends that submitted their application the first week and had their transcripts sent and still no GPA... whats up with that?!!? :scared:

i submitted my pharmcas on the 1st too! i got my gpa calculations the next day. all of my transcripts and eLORs are in. waiting is the hard part!

Do we have to pay anything to get our gpa calculated after we sent in our transcript? We can only see our gpa after we e-submit? I don't get how it works, mind explaining the process to this ignorant grasshopper?

no you do not have to pay anything.. pharmcas calculates your gpa once you submit and after all of your college transcripts have been received and may take up to 5 weeks for them to calculate it. you just have to wait and keep checking your status menu. and yes you can only check your gpa after e-submitting.

You can E-submit without having any of your References completed? Can resend or change recommenders after you E-submit as well?

you can submit if you do not have references completed. you are not allowed to make any changes to your application once you submit. you can only check the status of it. i suggest that you make sure they are completed before submitting because if there are any errors that occur you can delete the reference and choose another if the recommender has not completed the LOR. remember.. you can only have up to 4 references!

since we've all submitted our pharmcas application, we should let each other know when the pharmacy designations are mailed out (if it is before august) to see when the earliest is... hopefully soon.

Pharmcas will pick a day to calculate all GPAs. You are lucky to summit your pharmcas half an hour before that time. Some people, who summited applications a few weeks ago, still have to wait for a particular day for thier GPAs to be calculated.

They said it usually takes up to 5 weeks for your GPA to be calculated. I find it common for them to calculate GPA less than 4 weeks.

Good luck '10!
Make me proud!!!!

Applications won't be mailed out until the first week of Aug. I spoke to PharmCAS today. Waiting HELLAA sucks!

Good luck everyone!!!

ugh. that does suck! i purposely finished it early just to hope that it would get sent out early...

FYI PharmCas calculated my GPA today. I submitted on the 1st so it has taken them roughly a week to verify more than five years of college credits.

My GPA was calculated within an hour too. I was surprised how fast I got back from Pharmcas though. But I requested my transcript way before I e-submitted my application so that might be why I got back fast since they had my transcript to compare.

for those who submitted pharmcas applications early, applications were mailed to schools today! at least mine was... good luck everyone!

How do you know? I think they will email us everything they do. For instance, I got email that my appl submitted, my GPA calculated and a reminder about Pcat but I did not get any email that appls will be sent out today.

Did you get an email from Pharmcas or did you talk to them?

Elai, I checked Pharmcas this morning and I did not see "mailed" but I just went back after I read your post and you were right. They all sent.

Thanks Elai.

I am SO thrilled. Any ideas on how long it'll take to get word of whether we get an interview or not??

Different for each school. I think the earliest you'll hear back is September, some schools may make you wait until December or even January.
Good luck, and congrats on getting everything submitted so early!

It definitely depends on the school... USC's first interview session is November 21st, and UoP's begins in December. UCSF, however, doesn't even begin mailing out interview invitations until December, and doesn't start interviewing until January. I'm on pins and needles!

Really? I thought you'd be less stressed and relieved that you are done and over with (that portion). If you spent so much time in it I'm sure its an excellent app. Good luck with your application year.

I'm not ANY less stressed or relieved being done w/ PharmCAS and supplementals.

That was the easy part... The hard part is performing to expectations on the interviews.

I thought this was the case initially as well; however, as it turns out, if you are enough of an individual to be able to hold a solid conversation with a stranger there should be nothing to worry about. My interviews went infinatley more smoothly than I anticipated and I attribute that to all those nights out at the bars as an undergrad rambling about this and that with strangers. In my interviews 1/3 of the people were so nervous and/or socially awkward that they blew it, 1/3 of them could just barely speak English and subsequently suffered, and the other 1/3 did just fine.

In retrospect the hardest part I found was simply getting an interview offer.

Well I can tell you that you will find UOP interviews to be pretty enjoyable. I guess I'm weird cause whenever I finish an application I've been stressing over I feel relieves that its over.

Will PharmCAS mail out the application with pending LORs, but all transcripts are in, or do they need everything to be verified first?

Yes

I believe the schools received our PharmCAS applications on 8/3. I officially finished all of my applications... now the wait REALLY begins! I am still anxious though because my PCAT scores were low =/.. Good luck everyone!

How long did it take PharmCAS to mail your apps? I e-submitted yesterday and my GPA was verified within 3 hours. I was just wondering when they're going to send them out.

Mine took about a little more than week to mail out. I submitted July 23rd and they mailed it out Monday.

Wow PharmCas verified your GPA really quick! I e-submitted 8/1 and its not verified yet, even though all my transcripts are in. Did you only have one transcript for them to view?

No, I had transcripts from 4 different colleges. I did, however, send all my transcripts in June, but I just submitted my app two days ago. Maybe they already verified my transcripts prior to my submit. GL

Thanks for the response. I'm right behind you with transcripts from 3 different colleges, but the last one arrived in the beginning of July. Hopefully it gets verified soon.

Man I already feel so far behind. I haven't even had my transcripts mailed in yet. I am taking a summer class that ends in a week so I figured I would just wait until it was done to have everything sent in including that one class. Now that everyone else is already getting secondary materials I am really kicking myself. Good luck to everyone though! Try not to take all the spots at UB 😉

I'm far behind too.

I'm taking the PCAT in August and it wakes awhile to get the scores mailed out.
Since schools will not start looking at your application until they receive PCAT scores, i figured I might as well wait awhile since it wouldn't do me any good now.
