I got waitlisted at NYU as well with similar statsHow did you get waitlisted anywhere?
wow i'm extremely surprised with all you folks.
has anyone heard if the waitlist at uconn moves or not? or is this as good as a rejection?
Waitlists at the small state schools (Uconn, Stony Brook, etc.) don't move much. Its most applicants top choice and there aren't many spots to begin with. A handful of students will get in off of it though, so keep your head up!
Waitlisted at Case.

That's not true. My stats are similar to those and I was accepted. My interviewer told me they monitor your interest level through how many times you call their office, email them, etc. I made sure to ask plenty of questions to seem interested during the session with Dr. Mejia. I also sent a followup email with the people there I met, etc. They give out scholarships to their top applicants.
If you're on the wait list at NYU, make sure you call them and be proactive to show your interest. A lot of people move off of the wait list.

Anyone else get wait listed at Buffalo? Email says I have been "voted to alternate status" but that alternates "usually not offered admission until april". This seems late to me, so Im wondering if this is suggesting that I am pretty far down on the list or is it just the same message they send to all the alternates.

I can't speak for Buffalo, but I think a lot of schools accept students off the waitlist later than that (on a rolling basis) - sometimes even the week before classes start.

Im sure plenty of schools accept students all the way into the summer, Im just surprised that they wouldn't start accepting kids off the wait list earlier.

Maybe they just don't want students on the waitlist contacting them about their status any earlier? I'm sure the schools will be busy enough as the accepted students withdraw (or not) their spots.
Does anyone know what the earliest possible time is for someone to get accepted from the waitlist at NYU?
What are some good things to mention when calling admissions to show interest?

Im not exactly sure why but I think it has to do with me doing horribly bad mt first 2 years in undergrad, when I took the bulk of my requirements for both D school and my science degree.damn dude you're fourth time with that DAT score ?
