Waitlisted at USC, UNLV, UDM, and LECOM.
overall GPA = 3.52, BCP GPA = 3.72
DAT = 22 AA / 23 TS / 26 PAT
I thought waiting until December 1st was brutal, now I just don't even wanna think about it...
I guess I'll just play my violin in the meantime![]()
I called UNLV and they just said to call back mid-January.did you call UNLV to find out you were on the waitlist?
To all those waitlisted don't be discouraged. Write a succinct letter of intent to the schools, try to make it out to the person/people you interviewed with and make sure you mention how you've been spending your time volunteering/doing things to strengthen your case. Waitlist anxiety blows but it is still early and there will be a lot of movement in the coming months.
So if we write a letter of intent to more than one school...Will it not look bad?To all those waitlisted don't be discouraged. I hope that pre-Dec will have higher priority but I doubt it because the point of having post-Dec would probably be looking for people to fill in the seats (I think). At the school that I interviewed at, they don't have a "wait list". I was told that I am in their applicant pool right now. It sounds like the chance is pretty slim for me 🙁I am on the waitlist for two schools that I interviewed. I guess there are more students who did not get acceptance on Dec 1 than the spots that may open after January. If schools are calling out more post dec interviews, doesn't it mean they are more interested in students coming for post dec interviews?
some may say the new pool (pre-dec who didn't get acceptance + post dec) has the same chance to be reviewed, but chances for those interviewed early is getting lower. Any idea?
I got the same reply. Pretty bummed because I'm not even on any school's waitlist. Any ideas on what to do? For schools that I interviewed at but have not decided? And schools that haven't heard anything from? Should I send an email to each of them? I'm nervous about my chances of getting in.I called UNLV and they just said to call back mid-January.
Oct 16 I thought my interview went well. I guess it wasn't good enoughI interviewed there in September, you?
Fingers crossed for us! Something will come throughOct 16 I thought my interview went well. I guess it wasn't good enough
I interviewed the same day and got waitlisted as well. Luckily I'll be going to Minnesota though. But as you said before, 90% is the magic number. HahhaJust received an email from udm for alternate list.
GPA 3.4 ish
Dat 24 AA 24 TS

Interviewed on 11/1
Sigh.....

Yea it sucks bad. I felt like most of my interviews went good, but I guess not. What's your strategy going to be? Just wait? I don't know if there's much to do.
So what's the strategy folks? Retake the DAT? lol
That sounds like a good plan. Best of luck.lol just kidding. yeah just wait and continue with whatever i am doing. I just got a post-dec interview at case, so I really hope I get an acceptance there and just end up there
The dental school application process has proven to be a very exhausting one. I really do think they just put names in a hat and pick out the acceptances/wait lists/rejections that way..So every interview I went to, the dental schools stated there's no "ranking" system in the wait list. How are we supposed to know what kind of chance we have to get off the wait list if there is no ranking? Medical, pharmacy and PA schools rank their wait lists and also notify the applicant. Why do dental schools shy away from this?

Made an alternate at U of Utah (do schools have two different lists or do some consider "alternate" as waitlisted?)
In-state.
GPA: 3.91, 3.91
DAT: 22 AA/22 TS/24 PAT
🙁
I wish I knew more before applying to that school. #money wastedThe University of Utah is beyond ridiculous.
If Temple is your #1, might as well try and keep contacting them - but if you are planning on committing to a school you got accepted to, why waste the energy?if I haven't heard from a school at all (Temple), and I sent them 2 emails and got no response (I just sent it 2 days ago), one to a specific person, the other to the admission committee's general email, should I call in a few days or just stop trying to contact them?
Every other school, whether I got accepted there, or waitlisted, has returned my emails in a timely manner except this one. Kind of confused on what to do...
Every school definitely ranks people on a wait list. None of them will tell you what your ranking is on that wait list, however. They may even tell you there is no ranking to get people off their backs. This process is like the NFL draft. They want everyone to think they are the top of the wait list even if they aren't. If people know they are towards the bottom, they are likely to get offended and not even consider that school anymore even if they do end up getting an acceptance. What people don't know can't hurt them right? The only thing to do is wait and hope that there is enough shifting around of acceptances that a spot opens up. I think the odds are in everyone' favor. Many people will get in at their wait list schools even if it is a week or two before school starts. Good luck to all, I don't think you should stress too much! just curious since your stats are pretty good and you were waitlisted at a lot of schools.
Did you think the interviews went well? or just okay?
I got accepted into UNLV a couple weeks ago. Still waitlisted at the other 3 schools. The UNLV interview did go better than the other ones, but they weren't bad.
I was waitlisted last year at buffalo. I made the mistake of just waiting for acceptance. It never came, Now I am working on retaking the admission test to improve my school, and a post-abc program. I waited, and called the office until beginning of august. I guess what I'm saying is its not a bad thing to be waitlisted, but don't count on getting accepted!Anyone else get wait listed at Buffalo? Email says I have been "voted to alternate status" but that alternates "usually not offered admission until april". This seems late to me, so Im wondering if this is suggesting that I am pretty far down on the list or is it just the same message they send to all the alternates.
