Hey all. I have been talking with some friends about interviews, and it seems as though this question pops up from ttime to time. What are you supposed to say? "Um, if you give me a scholarship that will make my decision easier!👍" I mean, I feel as if that could be a red flag that you really don't want to go to the school, and would be frowned upon. Any thoughts, or have any of you ever had this question? Thanks!

Ask for a quick response for a decision? Or say that they already have, by giving you a great interview day. There are many ways to sidestep the answer.

Ferrari. Ask for a Ferrari.

I would say something like, "I am already so impressed with the program, the student body, and the campus here that there really isn't much you haven't already done. I could absolutely see myself attending this school next fall, and I think I would be very happy and successful here. Because I'll be paying for my education with student loans, any available scholarships would obviously be a huge factor in my decision, as would receiving an acceptance fairly early, as that would save me the expense and stress of interviewing at other schools over the coming months."

I'm going to repeat that response at every interview, word for word.

Me too man

It's well worded

Or can you just say "I don't think I am in a position to bargain"?

It's a stupid answer to a mostly stupid question

What a dumb question.

Interviewer: What can we do to make sure you choose our school?
Student: Well, you could accept me. I haven't gotten any other offers, so that would definitely ensure that I come to your school.
Interviewer: Aaahhhh....yea, I'm not sure we can do that. What about a wine and cheese basket?

Interviewer Assessment:

Good:
-Well-spoken
-Dressed nicely
-Polite

Bad:
-Speaks like a politician.

Medical Schools and pretty much any school out there loves having alumni who are smooth talkers.

Eh, you don't want to sound oily-smooth. I probably would take it down a notch and just give them a short bit of praise about their school and then some of the factors that I'll be considering when I make my decision.

So what happens when fifty people give the same answer? :meanie:

This is just pure genius.
