Is there room for improvement?

Until you get 30's there is always room for improvement.

What are you studying off of prior to taking your TopScore exams?

I think you shouldn't waste you tests like that, you should save it till couple of weeks before your test and then really take it like simulate like you are taking it that day, for example wake up early, eat breakfast, review or whatever and take it !
This is just my $.02

Agreed. Everyone says topscore is very accurate. i would do paper exams, barrons,, kap diagnostic kaplans blue disc, etc b4 i hit topscore. make sure u know the material as well as u can b4 u hit those. just my $02. to add to lonelysol's $02. to give a combo of $.04 cents worth of advice!

hardcore studying + right motivation= success on the DAT. Payce!

I'm asking because I orderd TopScore yeseterday, and I should get it sometime this week. That's good advice, I'll take it during my last week of studying. In the mean time, I'll review Kaplan and do the Destroyer.

There are a lot of practice tests out there. Not a ton of course, but enough to take 1 to get the hang of it. Then study a bit that you didnt know and take a second to see how you do. Study what you didnt do well on that one really hard because you at least knew the format and then cram a few into your schedule the days leading to the test.

Speaking of which, if anyone knows of extra tests not in kaplan/topscore/etc id be appreciative.

In reply to the original poster, yeah, of course theres room for improvement. I can tell you personally, the PAT gets easier every time you take it. Keep bashing your head against that material long enough and some of it will make its way in. It just kind of clicked one day for me and although I havent taken the actual test yet, the practice tests are looking very optimistic for myself on that section. Quantitative reasoning I personally found to be easy from the start but I think a lot of that is based on when you learned the material. I learned all of it in middle/high school and for some reason those lessons really stick with me. Usually miss no more than 2.

The science section, the most important section imo....totally different ballgame. In truth, its pretty scary to me 🙂 I have not done well on it(16, 18, 17 on first go). It seems to me the pool of questions they can draw on in this section is so varied that they only way to really study for the DAT is when you actually took the classes on the subject. My teachers weren't thorough I have found. There are some things I have found that I was supposed to have been taught but we just never covered. I had an "easy" organic teacher and that did me no favors for this test. Inorganic I had a tough teacher and understood the topics well, but that was 6 years ago and has found tis way out of my brain. What does this all mean to me? Retake inorganic. Take A&P to try to cover parts of Bio that were left out, and do some self teaching on inorganic.

I screwed around before I knew I wanted to do dental school so getting a good score here is pretty vital. Hopefully my plan for science is going to work but reading and comprehension, lol, that section is probably killing me the most at this time. I am a slow reader and a slower writer....but, I guess ill put that off till later 🙂
