Both? At least this is true for the Pitt group.
For our 2016 group... After school started, my class removed people that weren't part of our class or upperclassmen (i.e. people that decided not to come). I'd imagine next years classes would do the same if they chose to.

Join the FB group of the school you're going to attend. This is how you'll interact with your class, plan social events, and support each other while you all study your butts off 👍

The Facebook groups typically are for those who have full intentions to attend the school. If you wanted to just ask questions, I had organized a webchat for that purpose.
