so these are the bare minimum our office of educational development here @ UArizona recommends for step I:

1. first aid
2. step up
3. underground clinical vingettes
4. kaplan Q bank

they also said to use other review books as needed.

anyone got any others that they recommend after having taken the boards?

Yah you could pass with those, but if you want to do really well I would spring for a couple of books more.

1.first aid
2. step up - pretty crappy book in my opinion, too many errors to be useful. I bought it and was dissapointed although the embryo is the begining of each chapter was helpful.
3. The cliinical vinegettes just didn't fit in with my study style. I initially started out using them but dropped them when I really started studying.
4. Qbank Good stuff
5. Robbing 1100 questions
6. BRS path
7. High Yield Micro
8. Cell and Mol Bio
9. I would get a biochem book unless you are strong in it. Not sure what though.
10. Something for physio, i used an old version of stars, but i knew physio was something I was strong in already so i didn't worry about it.

Actually i have a lot more detailed review of the stuff i used here
