I am so nervous right now that I'm scared to even check my mail.... is it true that rejection letters are thin and acceptance letters are thicker?
Has anyone gotten a thin acceptance letter?

should i just check my mail?

my acceptance letter was 1 page

regular envelope
but that's been a while

What's wrong with just opening it up? You have to to it eventually.

So far I've gotten 3 decision letters. 2 thin ones, that were rejections, and 1 thicker one, that was an acceptance. But yeah, go check your mail!

I would say in general most all rejection letters are thin, I mean they don't really have that much to say. I've seen thin acceptance letters too though, where all the extra info that usually makes the envelope fat came later. So if it's fat, you know you're in and if it's thin there's still a chance.

Often times acceptance letters come in the big 8.5X11 envelopes.

I concur, in addition to the acceptance letter, the schools will include deposit info, formal acceptance certificate, and other info.

my creighton acceptance letter was two pages, my midwestern acceptance was a 5x7 thicker envelope, my acceptance for iowa was emailed by first but the formal letter that came was 2 pages. don't assume a thin letter is a rejection!

thanks everyone!
i just checked my mail for the first time in like a week and there is nothing...
it's been 13 days since the interview and they said it should take 2-4 weeks so i'm a wreck
:scared: <~~~ me for the past 13 days. i think the shaking adds a nice touch.

I know how you feel bro... Just do other things to keep your mind off of it. Don't think about it too much or you will go crazy. I was frecking out for like a month straight after my interview, and I had mad zits on my face from all the stress.

The acceptance letter from UMB was only one page and looked like a rejection letter, but it wasn't. So don't lose hope when you see a thin envelope is all I got to say.

I know it's hard, because I can worry a lot, but try to do something that gets your mind off it. Relax!

Acceptance letter from UCSF was also only one page. You'll never know till you open that letter. Don't lose hope.

Just rip it open and scan for numbers and dollar signs. Mine was in a small envelope as well... good thing I didn't toss it 😱

my acceptance letter was thin.

My acceptance letter was only one page. And only three paragraphs at that. Basically it said welcome to the school, we will send you more crap later.

Didn't get a letter at first, just an email... then I got a letter a week later. It was only one page.

my acceptances have been in normal thin envelopes....fortunately havent gotten any rejections though, so no thoughts on that one.

same here

My acceptance was a thin envelope, but thankfully I was warned about this during orientation of my interview.

My acceptance letters have come in large and medium sized envelopes.

usually i heard " got big envelop====acceptance", thin &regular size ==rejection...

But of course, gotta open those envelop, don't throw them away 😉

This thread should have died on 3-24.

It's totally pointless. Thick or thin you still gotta open the letters. What difference does it make?

yeah of course i'm going to open them but what's wrong with asking what to expect so that even if it is a thin rejection letter, I can still have hope for the 3 seconds before i open it?

isn't this website for questions?
geez.

It depends on the school. Some schools have thick...some schools have thin....Regardless, Open the mail!!!!

Mine had two pages and an envelope... not really all that thick but not thin either 😀

i decided to pull this thread back up because i know how much imperial frog loved it.

thanks to everyone who responded, and for those who are anxiously awaiting their VCU acceptance letters, mine was 4 pages + an envelope...so pretty thick.

dammit. i guess i'll have to void the deposit check i sent to you and tighten up my home security since apparently it's so easy to find my home address. 🙄

Hey has anyone received a thick rejection letter? 😕

I've gotten a thick waitlist letter in one of those huge manilla envelopes.

From which school, may I ask?

UIC just sends you an email.

And then a couple weeks later, a little envelope with the email printed out.

Then maybe a month later, your registration info.

Alan Thicke, not accepted! 😛

I just got a rejection letter from them today.

Which is funny because I never sent in my supplmental application or the fee or went to an interview...and they even sent me an e-mail a few months ago saying my application was no longer being reviewed because I never sent in the supplemental stuff.

I am heartbroken 🙄
