Here's the thing. I have already received 12 interviews for psych program (top 25 school, good clinical eval, etc) but I know that several programs want a passing score for Step 2 in order to rank.
Should I cancel those interviews? This is hopeless.

Took the CS today and I should receive the score in Dec.
CS today was just quite "wtf" for me.
1) For the first patient, I blanked out for a sec and forgot to talk about his chronic med condition (ie. how well he has everything under control, etc).
2) I forgot to write about SIGECAP for one patient in the PE (though I talked about it in the History).
3. For the phone encounter, I ran out of space for History and couldn't have time to finish the notes (wrote down DDx and Workup plan but I just don't have time to find things in History to delete and add more pertinent stuff, it was bull****)
4. For half of the patients, I panicked and didn't do a quick summary with them.
5. For a patient with a clear presentation, I forgot to ask about PMH and FMH because FMH wouldn't help with ddx and treatment at that point (ie. someone coming in with a dislocated ankle or something)
6. For a patient who was lying down when I walked in, I didn't drape him at all because I didn't have to do an ab exam on him (just head/neck/chest).
7. For one patient, I just asked, "so, I hear that you have ______, do you want to tell me more about it?" instead of "what brought you in?"
8. I tried to shake hand with a patient who refused to shake hand (so I didn't get to shake hand).
9. I was out of time for a couple patients so I couldn't finish the closure (ie. didn't get to ask, "anything else on your mind?" "nice meeting you, goodbye", etc)

the list goes on, omg

my school also requires passing of CS to graduate.............................

When do you get your score ?

Dec 7th hopefully
What do you think?

I thought I failed CS too, but it turned out ok for me. I also had a long list of mistakes I made and I was convinced I failed it. I think it always seems worse than it is. Secondly do not cancel anything, just wait. I think it is a bigger error to cancel and then pass. You have until Dec. 31st to take it a second time. I say wait and I am sure you will be ok man. Good Luck.

true, now that I think about it. If I were to do everything I thought I needed to do, I would never have the time..... you never know til the score report comes back.
What freaks me out is all those people claiming that they did everything yet they failed.

Are you an Americal Medical Student? If so, you almost certainly passed. SDN types tend to be much more critical of themselves.

SDN is a love/hate relationship, I think SDN is great while you study and need tips. But post-exam SDN can make things a lot worse while you wait.

I am in the same situation!.... with every post I read I freak out more...

I also think I failed my CS because of being nervous!... i forgot to do major things!. like not doing an abdominal exam when required... I over simplifed Cardio/lung PE... and some DD were totaly wrong now that i think about it...

Also will receive result after Dec 7th... but there are no dates available until january... firefox thing is not that efficient in getting a date i think!

What are the chances of matching next match with the history of a failed CS????

already made my choice of how i am going to study for next attempt so advertisers, dont try to mess with our heads, go fakepost somewhere else.

advice,

Thanks!

I took CS last week and I had a very similar Luke warm/bad feeling leaving the center. some of my patients chief complaints were so vague. also, forgot to wash hands for one patient. 3 of my patients I just had to guess what I thought was wrong with them. I'm hoping I guessed right...ie my differential diagnoses were legit, but not sure still...time will tell. any good "I screwed up and still passed" stories out there?

so, what's the verdict??? I am curious since i feel like i am in the same boat as most of you here. Did my cs last week and missed a lot of little things...
