thinking about pre-optometry...

Hi, I am currently a freshman undergrad and is thinking about going to the field of optometry. I am currently volunteering at a local eye center but I was wondering what kind of extracurriculars should I do if I wanted to apply to optometry schools? I'm going to become an officer next year for a volunteering club for leadership too.

u are on the right track..

1) Continue to keep doing what you are doing
2) Make sure you shadow/ volunteer at different optometric settings (BIGGIE!). Private, Commercial, MD/OD Office.
3) Make sure u kill ur pre-req courses. You want majority A's. It will be tough, well depending on what school you go to, but it will be worth working hard now to get in on your first attempt.
