I have been following SDN for the past 5 years, which included my wife getting into and then graduating from Med school this past Spring.
Like everyone here, I want to become a physician. One part of my mind tells me to quit my job and go full-time at finishing my pre-reqs, shadowing, etc. but the other part tells me to stay at my job and go part-time at finishing pre req classes.
The problem is I just finished my MBA this Spring. During the second year however, I took my Bio prereqs and volunteered at a hospital for a year while I was doing all the MBA stuff. I have a healthy amount of debt, in addition to my wife's debt from 4 years of med school.
Is going straight from an MBA program to prereq med school work going to raise any concerns with admissions committees? I have part-time work experience in a physical therapy setting and in optometry from college. I believe that I have very strong reasons for pursuing medicine. My stats are decent, about 3.6 overall and science (AMCAS) 3.8 (Osteo), however I have 6 prereqs to go, so there could be a big variance how it would end up. Obviously MCAT is a huge unknown as well, the only thing I have to compare to is GMAT and LSAT scores that were both in the 90-95th percentile ranges.
Anyway, sorry for another one of these threads, but I would just like to know for others in my situation whether going full steam seems like bad idea at this point. Thank you all in advance for any input.
