I have the T5. Had it for about 2 years now. Not a problem with the battery. In fact, I charge and resync it maybe twice per month and the battery meter is always >75% when I recharge it.
The T5 is pretty buggy though. It's not just mine. Everyone who has a T5 gripes about it. I only know one person who has a TX, and he doesn't complain about it crashing very much. Maybe they fixed the problems when they upgraded the T5 to the TX.
I've owned a lot of Palms (m500, m505, Vx, T1, T2, T5), and the T5 is by far the buggiest Palm I've ever owned. You would think with each successive generation it would be more stable, but not so. In fact, I never had any problems with the Vx, m500, m505, or the T1. It was only the T2 and T5 that I've had problems with.
Most of us Palm fanatics were hoping that Palm would release new PDA's this fall. That didn't happen, and I'm doubtful anything will be released this winter. Perhaps this fall is when they will update their PDA's. For now, Palm seems to be concentrating on its Treo line of smartphones.
Palms sync perfectly well with Windows, so if you don't own a Mac, I wouldn't worry about it.
