Hi all,

I was just wondering how is the academic and clinical load in the third and the fourth years?

Is it true that during these years you will be mostly in the clinic, so will not have much academic study?

Is it that during the FIRST TWO years you learn the whole thoery of the clinical subjects and actually get to the clinicals in the last two years?

In fact, i really want to know if in the third and the final year, I could just go to school and come back with not much study to do(unlike the first two years)?

Input highly appreciated!!

I would say at a majority of schools, this is how the system works. Of course, it depends on which school you go to. This isn't to say that being in clinic all day makes you less busy. During 3rd year I was actually at school more hours whether it was class or clinic, but had little to no studying. Free moments were spent getting lab projects done, or scheduling patients. I am actually more exhausted at the end of a clinic day than the previous two years. But I enjoy what I am doing much more. Why do you ask? Are you planning to have kids during the 3rd and 4th years, or do you only have stamina for two years of studying?

Thats what is my concern......you got it so right!!! 🙂

Now that you know my concern.......please try your best to address it.....if you can.....or anyone else ...

Thanks

I don't have kids yet, but quite a few fellow students do. Some are single mothers with kids in school. I don't know how they do it, but they seem to have a cooler head than I do!

I'm sure someone else with children will tell you how they do it.

So true. Clinic is far more fun that the didactic stuff, but it's also quite a stamina drainer for me.

3rd year was definitely harder than 2nd year for me and a lot of my friends. But it really depends on your school....
