Hey guys, I need help choosing what schools to apply for.

This is going to be my third time applying; first two times I applied without a post bacc and this third time will include the post-bacc I just finished.

Undergrad GPA: ~3.25
Undergrad sGPA: ~2.9

Grad GPA/sGPA: 3.65

DAT: 19 AA, 20 TS, 21 PAT

I am a VA resident and these are the programs I selected:

WVU
PITT
NSU
UDM
BU
TUFTS
MYD (aka UMD)
UNLV
TEMPLE
HOWARD
NYU
VCU

What should I add or take away?

Thank you!

They have a fairly large matriculating class of ~144, unlike most schools with 70-80, so around 40 or OOS students get admitted. Also, they have zero preference toward in-state or OOS because it’s a private school. Additionally, many of those who are accepted decline their acceptance to USC in favor of cheaper or more “prestigious” institutions. I don’t want to get into statistics here, but USC has a high spread/standard deviation when it comes to GPA so “averages” don’t mean anything (you can look as ASDA’s handbook to verify lowest GPA accepted... likely in the mid to high 2’s range)

I personally know of 2 acquaintances that got in with 3.1 and 3.3 respectively

Oh wow, 144? I've been looking at comparative dental school statistics on a spreadsheet someone from SDN made from here for 2017 I believe. Either they must have expanded the class size as of recently, or maybe the person who created the list didn't report the numbers accurately for IS/OOS. Thanks for the clarification! (Sorry OP for hijacking your thread).

I'm an idiot. I got USC mixed up with UCSF -__- please disregard everything I said lol.

Add USC, Touro, and ASDOH.

Are you URM? If you’re white or Asian, don’t apply to Howard unless you have extensive connections with the African American community (not being racist for those who are triggered/snowflake lurkers wondering hahaha)
Im not URM but they have a good tie with my undergrad and grad institutions. ironically, Everyone I know that go in to Howard are not URM. Im torn between applying to those schools because of how expensive their tuitions are but I guess it wont hurt. Thanks for the input.
