Pestana Surgery
Onlinemeded videos & notes
Look for the the Kreamer and Emma notes/ videos
Stepuptomedicine if you're the type who really has free time due to being boring.

Do you think its worth paying for that whole package that comes along with the monthly subscription to onlinemeded? I see it includes a qbank and flashcards but idk if theyre any good

Oh and First Aid for Psychiatry Shelf. That's probably a good way to honor the shelf if any.

The little Maxwell pocket guide. Sits in your front coat pocket and helps you out with all kinds of basic stuff for third year.

Most everything else is just personal preference for what works for you

I think it is a waste of time. I did the UWorld questions two days before the rotation. Scored about 60th percentile. Didn't study the entire rotation and still got HP (like 3 points from honors).

-maxwell pocket guide
-mass general pocket medicine
-online med ed
-uworld
-combank/comquest
-first aid for psych
-uwise ob/gyn modules
-step up to medicine
-first aid step 2 ck
-med fools scutsheet

That's all I can think for now.

For Uworld, do you buy the boards subscriptions (ABIM or ABFM), or do you get the Step 2 CK and CS? Also, what's a good board resource for comlex step 2?

No, you get Step 2 CK bank. Use it for both CK and CE.

-If you have to take NBOME shelf exams, I recommend Comquest COMAT shelf exams. Otherwise UWorld is the best qbank for the most part, mainly because it's all we have.
-I thought OME sucked, far too superficial and didn't feel like it could possibly help at all for shelves or CK. Only recommend using if you're extremely weak on a subject.
-Step Up To Medicine is great. Recommend at least one read through third year.
-Maxwell is extremely basic and might be helpful for a month at most.
-FA for the psychiatric clerkship is really good if you have the time to read it. About 200 pages or so.
-Mass Gen IM handbook looked pretty good when I've borrowed it. Wish I bought it for third year, recommend this one.
-Get Epocrates, UpToDate, eMedicine, and MDCalc applications for your phone.
-I didn't think MTB or FA for Step 2 CK was very good at all either. Kind of a waste of time.

I got honors with it. So I feel like it was a good study tool.

I think OME is for sure superficial. It's the pathoma of Step 2. But I felt like that had too its own use as a result. It's totally inadequate if you want to honor rotations. But it's good for making sure you know your head from your ass.

I thought onlinemeded + UWorld was sufficient, no?

Should I get through 100% of the relevant uworld questions prior to finishing up each rotation? Or is it good to save a small chunk of untouched questions for later on? Just speaking from my step 1 experience, my second pass of uworld felt like a waste of time so I ended up stopping about halfway through it. But then again, I started uworld in february so I'm not sure if a second pass of it for step 2 would feel as useless if I started doing uworld now.

Any additional input on apps? A bunch were mentioned to me in the past couple weeks but I can't decide on which ones will be my actual go-to's since there are so many of them.

Not to honor shelfs, no. Usually you need an extra resource to cover your basis. A lot of my IM and Peds shelfs contained material that wasn't anywhere in UWORLD or OME.

I'd use Step-up to medicine for IM, Pastana for surgery and FA step 1 for psych (it's good enough), add onlinemeded to the mix to fill the gaps and you'll be golden. Of course, do UWORLD questions as you go, and reset for board study time.
Step-up is REALLY hard to read, very dense, very boring, but come board study time you'll be awesome if you got through it once already.

i personally used onlinemeded and uworld. bought different books such as Step up 2 medicine, step 2 secrets, blueprints etc. but i really felt that OME and UW were the best concise and best use of my time
