How is it possible that almost 1/2 of all the relevant threads started in the forum are being moved to other places? Have you nothing better to do with your time!
😡

They're probably being moved because

1. they can move it.
2. the thread is in the wrong forum.

there have been a number of threads here recently about MCAT that have been moved to the MCAT forum. A couple of completely off-topic threads have been moved to the all-student forum, which is the appropriate place for them. are there any others that have been an issue lately?

Over-monitored? If they REALLY wanted to then they could probably move half this stuff to somewhere else. As it is now, the blatantly wrong threads go to the right forum. They don't get overzealous with closing threads compared to many forums...No idea what you're really talking about.

Like the OP, I find it annoying as well. I feel that alotof the posts that are constantly being put into the sticky threads at the top of the board would be much more interesting if left alone. Once they are moved (buried in a 5 page thread), they tend to get fewer responses or are ignored. This seems to be especially true with school specific questions. On the other hand, many posts are redundant, so I can understand many of them are moved.

I agree. Once they get moved you can't search for them appropriately, nor find them thru tons and tons of pages of unrelated topics. That's why people often ask the same questions again. And I'm not going to subscriibe to it because i don't want info on all the unrelated topics. t took me days, if not weeks to find the response to a question I asked because it got so buried in one of those 6 page threads. 🙁

That's a balancing act problem. The tons of threads on similar topics, individual "what are my chances", and other similar often repeated themes annoy a lot of folks, too. That's why we're putting them in a centralized place instead of having a bunch of related threads going on at once. If you have concerns about how this is being done, then I recommend that you PM one of the pre-osteo mods to discuss it.
