..is AWESOME!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being so gracious and offering such solid and personal advice. Not just for me, but in general. It seems that everyone is so willing to go out of their way to help others in offering advice and support. I feel lucky to be a part of this forum, especially since I have no guidance from school, only outside sources such as SDN.

And again.. CONGRATS LVT!!!!!!!🙂🙂🙂🙂

It really made me smile seeing that the outpouring of support for LVT.
You guys rock.

okay..back to your regularly scheduled programming

I completely agree! In the past there's been some here that tried to be negative and stir the pot, but this years group has been VERY PROFESSIONAL. You guys have made the rough spots a little better and the good times ten times SWEETER. I could not have gotten thru this without everyones support and encouragement.

THANK YOU ALL!

I couldn’t agree more, this group has been an amazing support system throughout this whole process.
LVT CONGRATS on your acceptance!!! 👍

You really deserve this!

I have to agree that this forum has been very helpful to me-not just in aiding in my aspiration to become a vet, but also in random questions and stress relief. Thanks prevet forum!

I agree this is an amazing forum. In my school at least theres a huge level of competition with each other and people are more than willing to throw each under the bus. In my app workshop I gave yesterday I brought up SDN and one of the girls commented that they usually stay away from forums like this because of the competitivness but I told her honestly its a huge support group, I dont think a single person here hasn't been anything but supportive to each other and I think everyone is truly proud of everyones accomplishments

I donated because I feel that this forum is a blessing and wanted to help support the people who maintain the site. I know it's not an option to everyone, but it's why I did it. (so it was not to have the bigger avatar 😉)

I couldn't agree more. This forum has been absolutely amazing. When I decided to go back for the prereqs, well...here was my emotional progression:

Decide to go back: 🙂
Meet with (not very helpful) advisor: 😱
Investigate on my own what I'd have to do: 😕
Do some more research: :scared:
Happen upon a thread on SDN in a google search:
Hit pre-allo first: :eyebrow:
Discover vet subforum: :woot:

This forum has played advisor, support network, entertainment, stress relief, and made me some real-life friends. I really can't say how much I appreciate everyone who hangs out here.

Excellent use of smileys!

OMG LVT!!!!!! Rock on!😀😀

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy you are going to be able to pursue your destiny, and become one of us!!!! I know that there will always be ranges of personality/backgrounds within any profession, nor do I for a second delude myself with the belief that you and I will do similar things But, that said there are simply some people (of whom you are one, and perhaps the poster child) who basically we NEED in the profession, if only to keep us balanced and sane. I am SO happy that you of all people are going to be able to follow your dreams. You, without doubt more than unworthy I deserve to become a Vet, and it is truly awesome that UGA has recognised and rewarded that. True, there are many many equally worthy candidates, but LVT, by her sheer force of will and persistance has more than earned her place Sad thing is, I have little doubt that she will go on to far greater and more worthy things than most of the rest of us shall as far as contributions to the betterment of the profession. If you cannot tell, I am just a little bit excited for one of my favorite worthy underdogs Welcome!

Exactly why I paid my money as well. There was nothing for me to gain, other than to reward a place I have taken so much from, if in just a little way. Please donate, if even just $5.00. You may not get a shinny gold star, but think about it, what would you have given a friend in need who had provided such unasked support? I am a republican, and an MBA but there are simply some things that are just worth taking care of, even if you are being selfish (as I was) about it. I have taken far more than the paltry sum I contributed, and I know it. I can still say Thank You!

When I first found this forum, it was by suggestion from another forum that was horrible to navigate. Just the way that the "recent threads" come up made it so much easier to respond and interract with everybody.

I know I don't say much, but I'm a reader. I know I wouldn't know anyone by their face, but I've made some great friends, as well. I think this is a great place to gather information or share what you know. I especially enjoy the relationships that grow over time.

I think the ongoing discussion is the best way to develop and explore opinions on topics that we all want to know about. Even if it is quotes from TV shows or web comics.

We Rock!!!

I couldn't have made it without this forum. I got great ideas on how to re-organize my application, and good advice on important decisions. I got great support when I was rejected last year and not sure if I wanted to try again. I probably wouldn't have tried again this year without SDN support. I try to give back now when people ask questions, using my own personal experience to help some of the "newbies" out.

I agree 100%. With very few exceptions (you guys probably know who I'm talking about... 🙄) everyone on this forum has been so incredibly supportive and helpful. Especially given my recent crisis of faith, this forum has been a godsend. You guys really are awesome. 😀

Oh, and I think I've been too consumed lately with my own stupid drama to read SDN, so although this is belated, I have to say... CONGRATS, LVT!!! It's SO great that UGA finally wised up to what they were missing. You deserve it, and I'm so HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!! :highfive:

I'm glad someone started this thread. Although I'm new to this forum I am eternally grateful for all the insight and support I've received since I've joined. I too, am glad that this isn't one of the typical forums where people are bashing each other. This forum has actually become one of my stress relievers this semester. It has definitely lifted my spirits at some rough spots this semester and I hope to become more involved in the posts (and help lift others spirits) and offer personal insight as my schooling continues. Again thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀:claps::banana::biglove::highfive:

As somewhat of a newbie to this whole thing, this forum has been an excellent reality check. It has pushed me to work harder and expand my experience so that the adcom doesn't laugh in my face when the time comes to apply. I don't know how naive I would have been to this entire process if I didn't have your experiences to help me along the way. I feel like I've managed to get a head start on things I never even knew about, and I'm blessed in that I have time to prep my application and do as I much as I can. The information has really been valuable!

The best way to thank the people before you is to help the people ahead.

And that's about as zen as I get.

One of the members of my Pre-Vet club (a senior who had been accepted to the U of I Vet School) told me about SDN the spring of my Junior year. When I first joined the forums in the fall, I COMPLETELY freaked out. I looked at other people's stats, and felt that I wasn't good enough. Then I realized that there were many people with my stats, and that this was just a big support group. I have met many friends and have used this forum as a way not only to cope with the stressful application/interview process but also to get advice and have my questions answered.

I LOVE YOU GUYS! YOU ROCK!😀
