People who make general blanket statements about a person by what his/her college major or profession is are not worth anytime.

In great careers you will find people who are just in it for the money; however, there is also numerous people who actually enjoy the profession. Saying all Pharmacy students are in it for the money is lunatic.

I know its lunatic! I hate when people make generalizations especially like how pharmacist only count pills. I think that pharmacy might be one health profesion that people don't understand the duties of and under-estimate.

lmao...some very uninformed people. Sadly a lot of people hold these views about pharmacists. I like when I tell people I'm applying to pharmacy school, and then proceed to tell them about all the cool things I will get to do. They are always surprised about the number of opportunities in pharmacy.

I'm in it for the money indirectly: more for the stability and stress-free atmosphere (usually). If I made 50k as a hospital pharmacist, I'd be fine with that as long as I enjoyed it 😀

But I'm not a snob or obnoxious, so it's fine for me to be in it for the money right? Who isn't?

When my father practiced medicine I know he fully respected the Pharmacist and his duties; however, it is a reality that some physicans do not take full advantage of a Pharmacists knowledge for the simply fact that they do not understand all the responsibilities of a Pharmacist - especially the old time doctors.

Good doctors realize how important Pharmacists are and in a hospital it is very important to have the respect of your colluges.

some of these people are idiots..it's not like pharmacists make money off overpriced drugs...it's the BUSINESSMEN CEO's and CFO's that do

Hey Im just glad these *****s are trying to do something productive with their lives, and dont have a clue about what pharmacy is really about and the opportunities that come to a person with a Pharm D. People have negative comments about any job. It's a fact of life. I don't feel in any way angry or surprised at these comments, and you guys shouldn't either.

Like OMG people, I have a 3.9 GPA, 35 ACT, I'm in 45 clubs (president of 40), have 60 hours of volunteer work per week. Do you think I can get into Harvard or am I screwed because I got one B- in PE (she was mad that I rather study when she wanted to use that aerodynamically incorrect ball)? Am I going to get stuck at a state university because I'm so dumb?

I am still in high school (junior) and I found that site earlier this year thinking that it was like a great high school community. Boy, was I wrong after reading like 10 posts I realized it was all about numbers and did not post anymore.

Some of those people on that site really have no idea. Just like most of the people that know I am going into pharmacy. When I decided to go into pharmacy I basically had to explain to my family the rigourous curriculum that went along with pharmacy and that I may not do retail, they had no idea. I hate when I tell people my career path and they say" so are you gonna hook me up with some drugs" or " pill counter". At least I also have a BS in Molecular and microbiology and that usually give some people and idea that pharmacy isn't as easy as it seems.
