This is my second attempt to get into Optometry school...

My gpa is not very competitive - my cumulative is a 3.1 and my science is a 3.4. I need a SOLID OAT score to get in...
When I took it the OAT was not very good, so I need to do this again! Aah!

Anyone have any info of what the most cost effective ways of preparting for the OAT is?

Thank you for any suggestions!

www.oatprofessor.com is one, it's kind of wack though. I found that its treatment of some of the material was great, but other times it went way too far in depth.

The kaplan book was pretty solid, and the kaplan DAT book will help you with all the subjects except for physics.

Best of luck

I would recommend you read some of the posts here regarding OAT preparation. After reading them, you will probably end up with deciding between Kaplan OAT Course or OAT Destroyer. Since this is your 2nd time around taking the OAT, what OAT resources did you use the first time? What were your weak areas? Perhaps you can work on those weak areas to save some prep time. I personally used the Kaplan MCAT Comprehensive (2000) - for the science sections...for additional practice, I also used the MCAT Physics Book by Biehle, Arco GRE Math, Organic Chemistry for Dummies Workbook, Real ACT natural science passages for the RC, and OAT Achiever. Luckily, I was able to borrow most of the books from my local library. In the end, I did well enough to get an interview at SCCO.
