...but how soon can I start getting my application together on PharmCas? (I'm applying for Fall 07). When do they open up the application cycle for the next year?
Sorry for the stupid questions. I'm really not dumb, just anal.

There are no dumb questions.... It is good that you are preparing in advance. The sooner you complete the application process, the sooner you'll hear from some schools. Pharmcas doesn't reopen until sometime in June. Sorry can't give you an accurate date.

Start drafting a personal statement, have your transcripts and resume available, and think about who you'll ask for letters of references.

Good luck.

I remember it being early June. I was in summer school, so I couldn't actually work on the time-consuming part of PharmCAS (like the personal statement) until late July, but I got all my stuff in by mid August. I got an interview in November (11/18) and just found out that I was accepted to my first (and only) choice school on Thursday (12/22)

Getting your stuff done early is always a good thing, but be sure to give yourself time to make sure everything is perfect. It will depend on the timeline of your schools, though.

i started apply for pharmcas during summer...I think summer is the best time to start..if you wait until Fall then you'll be busy with schools and other stuffs...so it's best to apply pharmcas during summer...

yes there are....
we have a thread over in the pharmacy forum dedicated to them...

Start as early as possible. PharmCAS opens in late summer and some non-pharmCAS schools wont take them until later, but that does not mean you can't work on it earlier 🙂.

For instance, start working on your personal statement as soon as you can.
Decide what schools you are going to apply to
Get your references lined up
Get all the transcript request forms lined up.

These are the things that, even though I started my app right when pharmCAS opened, really delayed finishing all of my applications.

Ooh this is fun. The Pharmcas application opens in June I think.

-they require that you fill in coursework the way it is written on your transcript, so have a transcript for yourself available.

-Make a list of your extracurricular activities and write a short description for each (about two sentences long max).

-Write your personal statement (4500 characters allowed, including spaces). Approximately one page.

-be prepared to send a transcript from every college you've ever attended.

-supplemental applications are also in June. Be prepared to answer like 10 questions. So you can prepare by answering basic questions and answering them later.

For example:
1. Describe an ethnic dilemma you had in the past.
2. Describe one of your extracurricular activities.
3. Describe a situation where you describe leadership.

Thanks for the details. I've been wanting to at least get a leg up on my personal statement while on break, but I didn't know the criteria. Appreciate it!
