That's right. I finish my bachelors this year and I am GETTING IN FOR SURE! lol. I'm using this thread as a motivational tool to help me. 🙂 I started school back 3 years ago and finished all my pre-reqs, so now I have to take all the humanities, arts, etc in order to fulfill my undergrad requirements. I applied this past year and didn't get an interview. I have a 3.16 GPA (which should rise EASILY since I'm taking courses outside my major). My OAT scores are suspect, but I have been studying for a month and actually have the classes complete (I took the OAT while still enrolled in several crucial classes). My EC's and shadowing experience are my strongest suit (9 years of optical experience). So, like I said earlier, I'm using this thread so that I can look back on when I DO get accepted. Anyway, if you feel the same as me, post up. 🙂

I'm kind of puzzled as to why you didn't get in for the 2010 cycle, seeing as though you had decent extracurriculars and not a horrible horrible GPA. How did you do on your OAT's if you don't mind me asking?

that really scares me cause my gpa is the same and i was hoping i would have a good chance of getting in.
but i just finished my first year, so i guess i need to work harder and bring it up.

I think my original post was kind of confusing. Anyway, I do NOT have a bachelor's degree. I applied and was hoping to get in after 3 years of undergrad. That was one of the main things that held me back. I will be completing it this year. So I'm not really "behind", so to speak 🙂

I was in your situation last year and after 2 years of undergrad my GPA was a 3.4 with OAT of 360, but i didnt apply cuz i had no shadowing or any reference letters. Everything is set now and i shall apply this summer and see if i can become some cool Optometrist by year 2016
