This is what we are up against in legislation...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This is in front of the Arkansas House subcommittee of health when they were hearing scope of practice bills...Dr Nurse Practitioner....

Hey if outsourcing manufacturing to China to increase profit margins worked, why not outsource health care to nurses? Physicians can become the equivalent of 7-11 managers who herd the cats.

Fortunately I have a very good main gig and Medicine is my side gig. Plus I am old enough that I’ll retire before too much of this comes into play. But if I was a medical student right now I would probably be looking at moving to a mountaintop in Tibet and spending some time reflecting on my life choices.

May I inquire about the main gig? Say you were a medical student now, unable to move to Tibet, but recognize the impending disaster - how would you approach this situation?

The way she sounds... ugh. I'm not trying to be superficial, but she just sounds like one of those dumb blonde bimbos from high school who thought they were hot ****. Now she's got her big boy doctor pants on.

Honestly I feel like all this pro-NP legislation BS is happening in all the rural states where unfortunately anti-intellectualism is rampant.

PS I'm curious what she went on to say afterwards? And, can I get more context about what's going on?

Yup. And shel likely "wants to speak to the manager" when she goes out shopping. One of those.
