Hi,

I am a FMG,
260+/CS pass(1st attempt)/CK-expecting next week.
2 mo electives - 3 US LORs 1 Home LOR
multiple research projects back home
9-publications, 6 first author
YOG 2011
need visa

Can you please tell me about my chances if I apply this late
or should I just drop the idea and plan for applying next year?

I couldn't take CK early due to health issues. Subsequently people discouraged about applying late in the cycle. Feeling very depressed.

Would much appreciate any feedback.

What you have to lose by applying now is a couple hundred bucks. What you have to gain by applying could be a future 200k + being another year ahead.

I think you should wait. You're app looks good for an IMG and likely you'll match better next year since most every place has sent out all their invites by now. Granted I am talking about IM but it is probably true for most other fields.

I agree. What would it hurt to selectively apply to key progs, esp since you have great scores.
Better to apply that to wait if you arent too particular about where you go to.
