This might be a dumb question but..

what's the difference between OAT AA and Oat TS scores?

The AA( Academic Average) is all your average scores for ALL the sections covered on the OAt,
The TS ( Total Science) Only averages out your science scores:
biology, chemisty, organic chem, and physics too i believe, and it does not include the quantitative reasoning, and the reading comprehension.

Thank you so much for clearing this up for me.

You're Welcome! Theres no such thing as a "dumb" question ( with exceptions, of course, hehe )
Good Luck on the OATs whenever you're taking it!

Does anybody understand how they come up with your AA and TS scores from your raw scores?

Do all sections have the same weight?

TS standardized scores are calculated according to how many questions you get correct (raw score) - relative to how everyone else performed, of course. if you do a practice test, you should get a raw-standardized score conversion at the back. the AA score is an average of all individual sections of the exam (ie: if an average comes out to 345, your AA would be rounded up to 350; conversely if it is 344, your AA would be rounded down to 340).

all sections are looked at by schools differently. there has been much discussion on this board to which sections hold more weight in terms of admissions, but it is hard to say. i have asked school officials about this and they have claimed that the general chemistry, biology, and reading comprehension sections are of very great importance. take that with a grain of salt though - they're all important in my opinion. if you are asking how many questions per section: biology-40, orgo-30, gen chem-30, physics-40, reading-40, math-50.

good luck! 👍
