Weirdly, I have been rejected and waitlisted at two schools that I basically thought were automatic acceptances after very respectable interview experiences and extremely early at that. However, the one school that I was basically sure that I was rejected at after a poor interview on my part, I was accepted to. Go figure. This process has rarely made much sense to me.

Perhaps you were torpedoed by a bad LOR or one admissions member just didn't like your hair that day? Wierder things have happened, I'm sure. I would just focus on the positive acceptance and not worry about those other schools. Who needs 'em, right?

hey congrats on your acceptance! you only need one anyways! yea it is kinda weird...i think the interview itself is really kinda a throwoff for a lot of people. cause when you have a good one you basically think youre in...then when you have a not so good interview youre overanalyzing yourself. you probably did a lot better than you think! enjoy!!

This is how my Nova interview started, "We were reviewing your file and your lor's haven't seemed to arrived yet. Why are we interviewing you?"

Hands down the best opening question I've ever gotten.

damn! thats rough! when did you interview??i was just up there on monday and they seemed kinda disinterested..im not sure how i did in the interview itself. i feel like the 3 on 1 was pretty intense but who knows...

I was there is mid September. My file finally hit adcom this week; news should be in by early next week.

I got railed in my 3 on 1 at CCOM. Although, after every answer they looked at each other and said, "Very nice answer," so who knows. One interviewer even told me he thought I would be the president of the AOA someday so, who knows.

I already have my one acceptance, although I'd like to get an acceptance from CCOM....sweet school.

Yeah, my interviewer at COMP said the same sort of thing, "Very interesting" or "That's a unique perspective." So now I'm on the alternate list, who knows with this process...
Then I got blasted during my MSU interview by the Dean of Curriculum etc. and I get in...hell, I'm happy but it's really strange.

Just to add to it... I left my DMU interview (first interview) and they grilled me hard. It was TERRIBLE! Anyway, after the nightmare interview, I went to the airport bar so I can get over the horror that went on for 30 minutes in that room (just grilling me and 4 faces staring at me blank). It turned out to be my first acceptance 😱 Weird indeed... then again, they are only 1 or 2 voting members out of like 10 - 12 so sometimes they can't really break you from getting in if everything else is solid (LORs, GPA, MCAT, experience...). 👍

they starting beating me at one of my interviews with arms they had broken of the cadavers, and i got into that school! then i was offered a slice of cheescake, my favorite, during another interview and they said they were gonna make me medical director at their school one day. after a few glasses of champagne i left the interview feeling pretty good. they rejected me! aint that some ****?! 😛
