BUT....

if I go to ole miss over USC because I can easily get a 4.0 at ole miss

will adcoms view upon this negatively, since ole miss is lowly ranked?
 
Don't assume that you are going to get a 4.0 anywhere, but go to the place that you think is going to let you thrive both academically and outside of the classroom as well. If the school with a "lesser" reputation is the one that is the better fit then go to it.
 
Ole Miss is a good school. Particularly if you're a guy or are interested in greek life. That said, second everything mmmcdowe said

Seconded. With the caveat that in my opinion a 4.0 > than nearly any school name when it comes to applying to medical school.

Just remember that 4.00 is not always easily obtained. Look at each college for research opportunities. Also look for areas nearby that offer clinical experiences such as a hospital for volunteering/working and shadowing physicians.
