Program-Specific Info / Q's Thomas Jefferson Admissions Decisions

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Must be nice when they receive your standardized test scores...

They never received mine (MAT, not GRE) and are acting like this is not a big deal, despite the program being (for all intents and purposes, full). I took the MAT at the beginning of January, and had the scores sent directly to Jefferson. They said they did not get them, I contacted Pearson and had them sent again. That was 3 weeks ago.

Overall I am not terribly impressed by how they are handling this situation. No other schools I applied to had this problem. One person in the records dept had the gall to tell me it could take "5 to 10 weeks" for it to get from their mail dept to admissions. I honestly had to catch myself not to laugh...

Still, they are just going on saying "It's OK! They will still go over your application, and we'll update your file when it comes in." Extremely infuriating, and entirely unprofessional IMO...

Just had to vent... 🙂

@laika_noob I'm so sorry to hear that! Do you have a copy of the scores? You can at least scan and email them so they have an unofficial record. Also are you sure you sent it to the right place? I was filling out my fafsa and there were three or four tju's in there depending on what program it is. Maybe it is the same for test scores?
Sorry, wish I could be of more help, but I know how frustrating this is!

yeah, I've double checked the address with pearson, and even sent my unofficial grade report (showing scores and that test scores were sent to Jefferson and other designates Jan 9.) I've even suggested they call to make sure nothing is wrong, to which they basically say "if its coming it's coming." That's a great theory, but if the one that was sent 2 months ago never came, why am I to believe this one will? They've clearly got issues in their shipping/receiving department, and all of the people I've spoken to seem utterly clueless, which shocks me from a top rated school...

I blame it on the fact that they know I work for Penn currently, god knows there's a war between the two. 😉

Yes! It's such a great program. 🙂

Hey!
Now that you're in the program.. Is there anything that you recommend incoming students do to better prepare for class In the fall?

Hi! My best advice is to relax and enjoy your free time! I tried to look over anatomy and stuff but honestly, the program structures it in a very specific sequence and I ended up trying to learn more than I had to or I didn't look at things that they wanted us to know. So I feel like it was a waste of time. Just enjoy the time before school starts! 😀 (Oh and maybe buy a planner, just plan to stay organized!)

laika_noob did you make sure to send your scores to the Jefferson School of Health Professions not the Graduate School? I originally sent my scores to the grad school and had to re-send them to the JSHP. Once I did that, they were received right away.

Yeah, I matched the address up with the one they gave me and the one Pearson has on file. Something doesn't make sense...

For those who have been accepted is there a Facebook group or anything created yet?

Just e-mailed Don that I'm giving up my spot on the waitlist. Good luck everyone!

Soooo I know this has been asked already but its been awhile so I thought I'd ask again. Does anyone know if anyone has created a Facebook group yet? 🙂
