Has anyone heard back from TJU for the 2017 cycle?

I have an interview next week. I was offered an interview 3 weeks ago, but had to push it because I am currently stationed in Japan. Instead, we are doing a Skype interview because I can't get out of Japan due to North Korea.

I interviewed 9/12. I was told September interviewees should hear back first or second week of October. Eyes peeled and fingers crossed!

Good luck to you Flexion. What questions did they ask you if you don't mind me asking? Did you interview with an instructor, member of admissions, etc?

So I actually had a group interview with 3 other people. The admissions counselor and one faculty member conducted the interview. They asked pretty basic questions. Here's what I can remember: Tell us one interesting fact about yourself. Why PT and why Jefferson? What quality do you possess that you believe will allow you to succeed as a PT? What is your largest barrier to success coming into pt school? There are a few others I can't remember but the questions weren't bad. Best of luck!

Thank you for the information Flexion, I have my interview tomorrow so this was some good input.

Congrats guys. Hopefully I can join the accepted list as well.

Well.... my interview went pretty bad. I had to Skype since I am stationed in Japan and we kept cutting out every 20 to 30 seconds. I couldn't really give them the full emotion and passion response to each question that was ask. Very frustrating.......

Those conditions were beyond your control and you're half a world away so I'm sure they'll keep that in mind when considering your application. Best of luck Hinges!

I really hope so. It killed the vibe and wasn't as nearly as smooth as my Loma Linda interview. I couldn't get a gauge on the Dr. and the admissions team member. Hopefully I will be joining you all this semester.

Congrats!
Thank you. Have you payed and started your paperwork? I was looking at all the medical paperwork, I hope the military kept copies of all my labs.

I'm unsure yet! I have yet to hear from 4 other schools! Gotta compare those $$$. LOL!
I agree. 35k a year is rough, thankfully I have a GI Bill to cover 50k. I'm really wanting to hear back from UNT. However, everything I read points up TJ being a top tier school with 97 percent graduate rate.

I interviewed on 10/3 and am still waiting to hear back. It seems like a lot of people heard back yesterday, Am I the only one still waiting? Does this mean I am on a waiting list? Do they get back to you one way or another or do you just have to wait? Sorry, just getting very anxious!

When did you interview

When I had the interview they told me 2 weeks I will be notified. They wrote me exactly on the 2 week mark. However, my interview was done on skype and it went pretty bad because it kept going in and out. I am sure you have a chance, they are probably rack and stacking. What are you numbers and what extracurricular activities did you participate in?

I really don't know what you did for volunteer and community service. What made my application stand out was my military and personal training experience. I had 7 years in the military that consisted of leadership, humanitarian, and volunteer opportunities. My personal training experience includes 7 years in 4 different settings. I have over 1000 hours of volunteer and 500+ hours of humanitarian relief.

Current student here if anyone has any questions about the program!

How is the program, pretty intense? Also, what's a good area to live?

I'm from the area. Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Fairmount, and Manayunk are good areas to live with reasonable prices and within a good distance from TJU.

The program is very demanding but not too bad if you keep up with material. Anatomy in 10 weeks was tough but after that its regular semesters. Their are plenty of great places to live in center city, just pricey.

I will definitely take a look at those locations. I am curious about the area, heard many stories about Philly and the crime. Didn't want to put my wife in an uncomfortable environment.

I have been studying complete anatomy to try and get a head start. How is the staff? Are they willing to assist students that are struggling? How often do you study when you are off and if so how long each night? Was anatomy the hardest part of the program so far?

The staff is very personable and are very flexible when the weeks get tough. Yes, they hold open office hours and sometimes open review sessions for those that are struggling. I spend about 3 hours every night after class studying, with majority hours on weekends. Anatomy gets you ready for the rest of the curriculum lol.

Yeah right now I am memorizing all the articulations of each joint using complete anatomy. Next, I plan on focusing on the muscle insertions. The thing that is making me nervous is that they said I need to get a B in Biology 2, along with the other science courses. All my other science courses I got A's (AP 1/2, Chem 1/2, Physics 1/2), but if I fail to get a B in Biology I will be removed from admissions. My weakness is Biology and to have a stipulation where I will be removed from a program for 1 C out of 130+ credits is kind of absurd. I am currently taking Biology 1 and nothing I read is showing up on the tests. They word the test so awkwardly that I am having a hard time getting the right answer. Currently, I have an A- in Biology 1.

I am surprised you only study 3 hours a night, are the teachers that good? Is it mandatory that you have to get an Ipad if you already have a MacBook? Is it typically Monday-Friday from 7 to 4 pm? I really appreciate all the information you are sharing.

With the amount of material they give you, it cant all be done in one night lol. Got to space out studying. You have to take the Ipad regardless, some of our tests are on there.

Gotcha. I was thinking of just buying an ipad pro since I am on military installation and costs less. Nevermind. How is it at the school, if you get below a B are you booted? I see they have really high graduation rate, 97% to be exact. Looks very promising. What are the school hours typically?

Don't know if I'm allowed to speak of the grading scale but you want to keep at least a B+ average. Hours are usually from like 9-4 everyday

Wow a lot shorter hours than I thought. Thanks for the information. Pretty excited to get started. How big is your class? Do you find it better to study in a group or alone?

Anyone here applied late to this school? I applied October 24th already paid for the supplemental fee.
I'm hoping I get a chance to interview since I applied kinda late and I know they fill part of their class with 3+3 program.
My Overall GPA is 3.5, my BS GPA is 3.9 and my pre requisite is 3.8.
Fingers crossed!

were around 65. I find it better to study in groups after you have studied the material for a good amount of time.

How heavy do the dumbbells go up too? Do you have to pay to use the gym and are spouses allowed access to it?
solid gym actually. has basketball court and full swimming pool.

DB's cap at 120 I believe. The gym is free for all students but to bring a guest it's a $5 same day fee I think.

Thanks for the information. Does it get extremely packed?

I found the pricing, its 270 for membership to the gym or 695 with family for anyone that needed to know. I just got rejected from UNT, so I am pretty set on going to Thomas Jefferson. Are you going to the upcoming Acceptance Event in Dec?

Does Thomas Jefferson have rolling admissions? I applied late October, besides the "we have received your application" email I haven't heard from them.
