Thomas Jefferson DPT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just received an email from TJU I've been waitlisted for an interview. I hope a spot opens up for me. I applied late so I understand. I'm Still pretty excited to know my application it's being considered.

I also applied in late October (10/23) and have yet to hear back. I was wondering how long it took, after you submitted, to hear about your interview invitation? Does this mean I should be worried that I didn't get an interview? Thanks a lot!

My stats aren't great but my volunteer and extracorricular activities set me up well ahead of everyone because of the military background, multiple humanitarians I served in. I applied to 16 schools with a 3.3 GPA (PTCAS), but Jefferson saw 3.6 GPA. My pre-req is 4.0 for science courses. The huge thing I noticed is if you apply late or have some missing classes, you get bumped. I have already taken Chemistry 2, Physics 2, Medical Terminology, and Biology 1. However, they aren't listed on PTCAS because I submitted before they were completed in August. Thomas Jefferson wrote me an email on an update with photo proof that I completed them and got an A. I was rejected at 3 schools and I honestly believe it is because of these classes not listed. Make sure you apply early and have all your classes listed on PTCAS. Unfortunately, I can't update my classes till Dec 26 when my final set of classes ends and PTCAS opens up the fall update.

I'm missing one to two classes depending on the program and I have received emails with invites to interview. All they ask I s for proof of enrollment to those classes and that they will be finished by the time the program starts. All I'm missing is a second psychology and in some programs medical terminology.
TJU sent me the following: The Admissions Committee has reviewed your application, and you have been placed on the waitlist for an interview. In the event that an interview date opens up, we will contact you immediately to invite you in for an on-campus interview. The waitlist for Pre-Fall 2018 entry will remain active until May 1, 2018.

Hopefully you get in. I was going to try and get into UNT, but I was declined. Thomas Jefferson was a top 3 pick for me because of the great graduation/board pass rate, it shows me that the staff actually assist the students with specific needs throughout the program. I will be keeping my spot and attending July 2018. Best of luck to you and hopefully you get into the program.

Thomas Jefferson is a great school, not my top choice. I'm really hoping I get accepeted to Regis University or UNE, but honestly I would just go to whichever school accepts me first.

I was personally just worried about the area of Thomas Jefferson. Lots of crime in the area of TJU. Have you received any interview invites?

I haven't really looked to much into Thomas Jefferson, because I honestly applied without much hope. I know the area it's kind of expensive as far as housing, we'll see what happens... and yes I got a couple of invites, UNE will the first one I get to go to in two weeks.

I know this post is late but I interviewed at Jefferson in early December and was admitted two weeks later. It's my second choice solely because I prefer the in-state tuition at Rutgers which was also my alma mater though I've been wait-listed there. I know some people were concerned with crime but Jefferson is in the middle of the tourist section of Philadelphia in a nice area. If you are concerned with housing cost, I recommend you moving to the outskirts of Center City and catching a bus or possibly South Jersey and catching the train over.

Good luck everyone!
