I'll be applying during this application cycle and and am very excited to start the process! I'll be taking Intro to Psychology and Statistics this summer (finished by July 28th) and will take exercise physiology in the fall.

Grad GPA (unrelated in Philosophy): 3.67
Pre-Req (8 classes finished so far): 4.0
GRE: 680 V, 720 Q, 4 AW
Observation hours: 100 - outpatient orthopedic, 50 - inpatient acute, rehab hospital (in progress and will be around 85)

GRE 520 Q 330 V 4.5 AW (retaking at the end of July) I'm not the best standardized test taker and I only had a week to prepare.
Applying to: Cleveland State, Ohio State, Ohio U, Cincinnati, Youngstown State, Findlay, West Virginia, Pitt.

Obviously Cleveland State is my first choice since that is where I'm taking my undergrad and I can live with family to save money while in grad school. The program starts in Jan unlike most that start in summer/fall so if I'm not accepted at CSU then I will apply to the other schools. I may add 2 more to the list but I'm still trying to narrow it down. I still have a few pre-reqs to take, when I apply I should only have 2 left. Best of luck everyone!

Hope to have about 200 hrs total by the time I apply
Tentatively applying to: NAU, TWU, UTMB, UTSW, CSUN, USA(FL), Regis

Stats are in my signature. I finished all my pre-reqs but I took physics at another university than the one I'm getting my degree from so I need to get those transferred over and that might fluctuate my GPA by like a couple hundredths of a point lol.

Also just took my GRE today, so I know my verbal and quantitative scores but not my writing.

The goal is to apply to at least 6 schools so I need to find one more to apply to other than the ones I listed.

So awesome to see more Cali peeps thinking of applying to NAU -- represent!

I, myself, was motivated to apply there because of the extreme hike in Cal State's prices. For anyone thnking of applying to NAU from out-of-state (OOS)-- know that it's possible to get an OOS tuition waiver at NAU for the first year (so you'll pay in-state prices), and it sounds like most people have no problem getting AZ residency for the 2nd year on. NAU also offers graduate assistantships for the 2nd year, and if you land one of these, tuition for that year is either halved or waived depending on how many hours you work.

The prof at NAU in charge of clinicals also has good relationships with some Cali sites (she's from SoCal, herself), so it's possible to get internships back in CA if you desire.

If any of y'all are outdoorsy and have a penchant for bicycles, snowboards, or hiking, Flag is your kinda town. 🙂

Thanks for the info, optionpaloma! I, too, was turned off from CA schools by the high costs and tuition hikes in the CSU system. Flagstaff definitely seems like my kind of town, and it sounds like NAU offers some great deals. It's certainly one of my top choice schools.

Optionpaloma, I am an avid hiker/bicyclist, so NAU-Flagstaff piques my interest. "Study hard, exercise hard" is my mantra.

Thank you for the info about the OOS tuition waiver. I've lived in California for 31 years, but financial resources are a big consideration for me.

I imagine you'd take to Flag quite well -- they have an urban trail system (FUTS), so it's sooo easy to start yourself on a hike or trail run or take a mountain bike off-road. Many NAU students take FUTS to walk or ride their bikes from home to campus. In addition, Sedona and various canyons (including that "Grand" one 😉) and craters are relatively close.

A lot of elite athletes spend time in Flag to train at high altitude (elevation 7000 ft.), and I liked how in general people were more into getting their exercise outdoors rather than at the gym. NAU, however, just recently built a huge multi-story gym that looks very well-equipped.

No it won't hurt you. I did not take Physics1 & 2 until my senior year. Other schools to consider would be LIU. My GPA was around yours and I got 700s on my GRE (the old One) this was out of 800.

Was wondering how everyone is preparing for the GRE? I plan on taking it in about a month but have heard so many different ways to prepare.

What do you guys suggest?
