Hey guys, for those of you have have already taken Step 1, what were some WTF facts that helped you/could've helped you on the exam?

Too many horror stories of people getting investigated for irregular behaviour for most to stick their necks out. Try searching here and other forums. Preparing for those wtf questions is like looking for a needle in a haystack - not worth it.

Providing such things would be a violation of NBME rules

Not asking for the specific questions. Just wondering if there are any small factoids that could have been helpful. For example, we know that multiple sclerosis targets the oligodendrocytes. However, it's possible to go a step further and learn that specifically, the potassium channels are what's targeted. Looking for things like that.

That's question-specific content though, which is a violation of NBME conduct rules.

They take these violations very seriously and do monitor websites such as SDN and Reddit for conduct violations.
