Those who followed FA from the start

Is there anyone that followed FA from MS1/OMS1 with their school's curriculum? By follow I mean actually doing more than skimming the book. If you did and took step 1, how did doing that work out for you? Would you recommend it and would you change anything?

There seems to be a split between those who believe in putting more concentration on what's in FA than only following the curriculum. I ideally would like to hear from those who already took step 1 to see how effective following FA from day 1 was.

I started using FA with biochem, general path, micro/immuno in first year. I annotated the clinical points and other stuff. It helped me a ton because by the time I took the test I could just picture the FA page in my head. More times you are exposed the better IMO.

I haven't taken boards yet and didn't use FA at all during all of 1st year. Working through it right now, I can't imagine how it could have helped at that time.
