Any advice/thoughts on sending an additional letter of recommendation to the adcoms.

I have been waitlisted at my top school and my research supervisor has recently wrote me an excellent LOR that unfortunately He just gave me about a month after I was completed. He had to be out of the country (family problems).

Do you think it matters at this point? Has anyone done that? does it help/hurt my chances?

I was thinking the same thing. I have an excellent rec on file after it was complete that I would definitely want med schools to look at, but don't know when to send. Should I wait till I get on waitlist after interview, or send it in now. Someone adviced that its a common practice to send update letters to school, i guess its acceptable to send it in after your file is complete. I am sure med schools look at it before they make their final decision on you.

I too just got a glowing letter from a professor..and not sure what to do with it. I want to send it but also an update letter too..hmm..and advice😕

Fire it up! They aren't going to reject you just because you sent an extra letter. So there are three possibilities:

1) You send it and it makes no difference

2) You send it and it makes a difference - you're accepted!!

3) You send it and it still wasn't enough to get you accepted.

So there's no way it can hurt - it's not like you'll be walking through the mall a year from now and hear a voice from 8 stores down yelling "Oh my god, there's that freak that sent an extra LOR to that one med school! Lynch her! Lynch her!"

Timing - doesn't it make sense to send it as soon as possible? That means there's a better chance that someone will actually read it, right?

I mean, what do you have to lose?

Thanx...I will send it off soon:clap:
