Thoughts on Alternate list chances

I just received a letter today stating I'm on the alternate list at a school. Its one i really want to go to so I'm just not sure what I want to do at this point. I've applied to others and have an offer for an interview at one but I'm just not as excited about those. I have no idea what the chances of getting in for alternates are. Any thoughts? Basically, it comes down to am I wanting to start as soon as possible and go anywhere or am I willing to wait a year here if I dont get in because I really want it.

I guess it kind of depends on which one do you want more: to be an OD or to be an OD from that particular school.

On the bright side, if you have been waitlisted early, you are probably at the top of the list, so your chances of getting the golden ticket are better. 😉
